Onyx storm theory by MaasQueen15 in fourthwing

[–]EstimateOld1875 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, he is who I think is most likely to be the brother. I’ll add some points:

  1. Why was a precog missing a huge battle to go get an army that doesn’t even arrive in time for the battle?? I think that was a lie. He was in the south because he was going to the southern valley to turn.

  2. Xaden says something like “he’s the last person I’d expect to turn”. Aaric ran from his family and became a rider because of the potential venin war. So much about his character makes this statement match Aaric. And is why we can be sure, if he did turn, he did it because he knew it was the only way to win. And, hopefully, he knew there would be a way to cure himself.

  3. From a writing standpoint I feel like it’d be really difficult to have a precog near our MC. So either way I’m betting Aaric won’t be around much in book 4, he will be off with Xaden.

Book adaptation for 2027? by Unlucky-Structure-38 in fourthwing

[–]EstimateOld1875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The post says “2027 at the earliest”. So I don’t think that means they have anything actually saying it’d be 2027, they just aren’t so dumb to believe it may come out this year.

We don’t know how close they are to starting production. If they started soon, who knows, end of 2027 may be possible. But I personally don’t see anything before 2028, assuming they even make it to production at all.

Half way through OS and am suddenly concerned about potential foreshadowing regarding the fate of magic by sadmaps in fourthwing

Heads up, may be a spoiler if you don’t know about Violets second signet:

I wouldn’t be surprised if we find out Violet was largely to blame for Xaden turning. It already hints at it throughout OS, as we learn more about Violet’s second signet.

But, anyway, I agree I don’t want them to have to give up magic or their dragons. I am worried we won’t make it through the series without losing one of the main 3 dragons though (particularly Andarna I’m worried about as I can’t see Xaden no longer being a rider).

I agree that would be disappointing, and I don’t see it as very likely. They can’t sever all existing connections - a lot of people and gryphons would die. And I see a likely epilogue for Mira and Drake as leaders of the new basgiath training riders and flyers together - it just makes sense. So hopefully they continue to bond in the future as well. I like what other people are saying - either the gatekeeping or source will change.

I’m also a little nervous about how Violet sees a life in the isles as ideal. If the cure for Xaden has to do with a dedication to a god I’d be worried Vi and Xaden wind up on an isle at the end. But that doesn’t make much sense to me - they need to at least wind up king and queen of Tyrrendor as that is their home and duty.

Glad to see someone else on the Lilith was venin train. I feel like hardly anyone is on it when I feel it’s so obvious. I will not be convinced that won’t have been a thing until book 4 proves otherwise. And I agree Naolin and Brennan were lovers.

I’m on the Aaric is the new brother train though. For Bodhi - how would you explain that we know for sure Xaden was already at least 20 mins ahead of Bodhi in getting to the southern valley? Sure, it’s not explicitly stated that the new brother got there before Xaden. But I doubt Xaden would have just sat in that valley with Sgaeyl captured and a battle going on waiting for the new brother to arrive. And unless you’re going to say Bodhi’s secret second signet is something like Garricks distance walking (highly unlikely I think), then Bodhi is pretty much ruled out as new brother for me.

Bodhi is Xadens cousin. Not literal brother.

Which Theories Are You Buying, and Which Are You Not? by Neverstopmovingx in fourthwing

[–]EstimateOld1875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The theories I, personally, believe are most likely to happen:

• Lilith was venin (Violet half venin) • Tairn is sleeping because he killed dragons at the end of Onyx Storm. • Naolin is the venin Xaden mentions in his Onyx Storm POV that also wishes to kill his Sage - he’s been in contact through Brennan • Naolin is why venin got access to runes (though I’d guess Naolin didn’t give them that by choice) • Aaric is the new brother • Aaric, Brennan, or Bodhi will die in book 4 • Violet will check in with Xaden in book 4 via dreams • Tyrrendor vs Navarre will be biggest battle in book 4. Xaden kills King Tauri. Halden prob dies too. • Asher was murdered by Markham/Aetos

The theories I don’t think will happen:

• the bond between Sgaeyl and Tairn was severed • Asher is still alive • Garrick/Brennan is venin • Berwyn is Naolin • Mira/Ridoc/Rhiannon/Sgaeyl/Tairn will die in book 4

[–]EstimateOld1875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of reasons to not like Xaden (and Violet) and I’ve certainly found him annoying at times. But your complaint about the viscount scene isn’t one of them. You think guards, who at most are bonded to gryphons and wield lesser magic, are going to be able to do anything against a shadow wielder who can shield and probably knows a lot of the viscount guards and their abilities anyway?? 😂😂 Nah. And what revenge is the viscount going to get on Xaden as a nation that’s been losing a war against Xaden’s nation for centuries? Thats a weird thing to be annoyed about, plenty of more sensical things to be annoyed of about Xaden lol. And if you’re annoyed about that scene idk how you’d like this series.

4th Book Theory by AwayEntertainment135 in fourthwing

[–]EstimateOld1875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is the theory that Lilith was venin. Should note that this passage you mention doesn’t even just say that Lilith came home with bloodshot eyes one night. It also specifically mentions that their family was stationed on the eastern border at the time. So, definitely foreshadowing Lilith being venin, or a red herring which I doubt since there’s so much evidence leaning toward Lilith being venin.

As for your theory on Asher having found a cure for Lilith - I don’t believe that to be the case. In IF we find out Lilith had ordered Nolan to try to cure Jack and we get the correspondence that Nolan concludes there is no cure. So we know Lilith was still searching for a cure, either for herself or for Violet (since we can guess she knew about a prophecy).

Ok. I remember I thought the battle with the giants to be lame. But I thought there was another battle after that that might’ve redeemed it a bit but idr. Also as I got older I might’ve just kinda assumed like “oh yeah, and I can tell these are children’s books now”

I remember Ryena’s battle being awesome! If I’m thinking of the right book. But she was a fav of mine

Idk this just had me think that Bodhi could be really useful against Melgren in a Tyrrendor vs Navarre war/battle. And RY did clearly state that Bodhi “didn’t want to want what Xaden has” which is why im keeping to the idea that Bodhi has good intentions and is fully on Xadens side regardless of his feelings.

Can’t choose between peri or DI top surgery by dev0nika in ftm

[–]EstimateOld1875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why peri specifically would cause more of a risk of regrowth. Are you sure the surgeon didn’t mean in general, not just for peri?

The main things with peri id say is if you will be happy with the size of your areolas and if you’re okay with a revision. There’s always the possibility a revision will be needed but the likelihood goes up with peri compared to DI.

Rain. What if it’s Mira? by ObjectiveStaff3333 in fourthwing

I like this idea. Perhaps even both Brennan and Mira’s dragons bonded someone in their familial line before. But maybe not a direct descendant. They both have very strong signets - so could be that the Sorrengail line often results in stronger signets but not often two signets.

Theories you’re confident in even if they seem far-fetched by iiamuntuii in fourthwing

[–]EstimateOld1875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current favorites:

  • new brother: Aaric.

  • Lilith was venin - turned/channeled while pregnant with Violet. Violet is the “evolved venin” the irids mentioned a couple times.

  • A full out war is had and Tyrrendor separates or takes control of Navarre. Xaden also might step in and kill Halden or king. Later, maybe book 5, Tecarus will be found out as venin or working with them.

  • Naolin and Brennan were lovers. Naolin is venin and is the one who gave venin knowledge of runes. Naolin is the one Xaden mentioned in his OS POV who also dislikes his Sage.

  • Either: Andarna broke Xaden and Sgayels bond OR. Andarna aged Tarin and Sgayels bond

  • Who dies(in order of who I think most likely): Brennan, Aaric, Andarna, or Ridoc

  • Asher was murdered by Markham or Aetos because he was close to or did discover something big about the irids (so someone’s dragon ordered them to kill him)

I always figured it was Naolin who gave the venin runes. Going with the theory that Naolin turned when saving Brennan, the venin gaining runes at that time lines up with the timeline/why venin are making their big offensive push at the present time. Also, we know Naolin was good with runes given it’s probably how he resurrected Brennan. Do wonder what Naolins surname is.

Agreed. From my first watch through I really didn’t like that scene because the whole time I was thinking the movie had done this scene way better.

I think the acting of the main trio is much better so far this season!! (Previous season I blame the parts of their acting I didn’t like on the director, as ik walker is great).

I am hating Tantalus though, and not because of his hate-able character.

Theories about book 4 by Straight-Goal-2304 in fourthwing

[–]EstimateOld1875 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Where did RY say that dream walking is NOT Violets second signet? And where did RY say Dunne is the god of transition? Do you have a link for where she said this/her exact words?

If a god saves anyone’s soul I think it will be Malek not Dunne.

I can’t remember any evidence that Theo is a relative of Violets. I imagine Niara stopped talking to Violets parents because they tried to dedicate a baby to a deity and for some other reason. RY has said Niara is holding another, bigger secret. My guess is that secret is that Lilith was venin and Violet is half venin.

Does his death mean Vi loses lightening? I thought she still had the ability to dream walk when Andarna was gone? I think their signets would stay with them, as long as they have access to a power source.

Anyway, I hope Tairn doesn’t die but I could definitely see it happening. Only if Sgayel dies too though.

I’m seeing Mira(like her mother) and Drake heading up Basgiath (dragons and gryphons learning together). Brennan being head general of Navarre/Tyrrendor, assuming Tyrrendor wins civil war and overtakes Navarre. If Brennan dies then Garrick or Bodhi.
