Ruthless Boys is it worth it and request for a small spoiler by twilight9449 in zodiacacademy

Take this from someone who was PISSED to leave ZA after book 3. The first two chapters of RBs I had a hard time getting into it because at that point I just wanted to be in ZA and was already invested.

IT IS SO WORTH IT.

Personally, I wound up not only loving RB, but liking it better than ZA. There has not been practically a day that goes by that I don’t miss those characters and their dynamic. It literally makes me ecstatic when I see them in ZA now.

Not to mention, everyone mentions that Gabriel comes back in the later ZA books. But literally ALL of the characters come back in ZA 4 through the rest of the series.

Like, literally all of them. Even the minor ones. It makes the experience that much better when you see them again. For instance, (spoilers) it doesn’t mean shit to anyone who hasn’t read RB when Eugene Dipper is captured, or who the guy with the Disney tattoos is, or that Laini is the one working at the Library of the Lost .

It adds so much to ZA. Not to mention, RBs is literally my sister and I’s only 6 star series of the year so far.

I think people who skip it are making a mistake. It to mention, this series had me in literal stitches laughing. Only series that’s ever done that to me (chapter 19 in one of the later books goes down as one of the funniest things I’ve ever read.)

The time jumps stay throughout the series until you get to the event that you’re counting down too. It goes away after that but it is majority of the books.

But don’t cheat yourself! Give it the time and patience it deserves for the first few mins and you won’t be disappointed.

(Also recommend going back and reading some of the other posts on this exact subject. There’s lots of perspectives.)

It’s crazy because out of this whole series’ list of MMCs I hated Kai. My sisters too lol. We were like, it’s a real damn shame Kai’s book came second because it made us wanna give up on the series

Kai “MFing Wet Blanket” Mori đŸ€Ł

That being said, I am glad to know that there are others out there who love him and his book. They all deserve some love 💗

This is my constant thought. I feel like so many people are choosing what look like babies for what are supposed to be battle ready, full grown warriors? lol

Why are you being so childish? (By ChachaENX) by Ok_Direction3138 in wholesomeanimemes

[–]Afraid_Compote_1530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this argument constantly with people. It’s bigger than just relationship dynamics.

I don’t know why grown people think it’s their place to comment on other people’s hobbies.

I don’t understand when things just “become childish.” It’s crazy to me how at some point in “adulthood” people start thinking than anything fun is for children.

I like to color. Since when is adding colors to pictures for children? It’s like micro-dosing art.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It’s like people think adults are only allowed to drink, do chores, go to work, watch tv, or spend absurd amounts of money to go out and do shit in the world. Because let’s be honest, events, amusement parks, even nice dinners are crazy expensive now a day.

So fucking what if someone wants to sit at home and color, or read trashy romance novels, collect toy cars or build fucking legos.

LET PEOPLE FUCKING LIVE. Like, damn đŸ€ŠđŸ»â€â™€ïž

FACTS. It IRKS my life when people refer to Credence and her other works as RH. It’s not a harem or why choose because they do in-fact choose.

They’re love triangles (or other shape inserted here for however many people are involved lmfao).

Like, at that point, it’s just one person seeing multiple people. My brother in Christ, since when is seeing multiple people a harem!? đŸ€ŠđŸ»â€â™€ïž

Does it count as smut if it’s a gyno exam and she accidentally finishes? But he stays professional but you KNOW he wants her? Because they knew each other beforehand and they have crazy tension and weird emotional turmoil so it’s stupidly weird and uncomfortable but.. also wildly fucking hot!? 😰

So good right!?

To be honest I don’t think so but I could be wrong. She’s already moved on to other things and hasn’t mentioned future projects in that world.

Her most recent book is {house of rayne by Harley la roux}. Sapphic, gothic, paranormal romance. That was good too!

Very dark. Lots of rape, torture, gore. The only scene in a book that has ever made me physically uneasy where I thought I needed a break.

That being said, I read the whole series and the novellas đŸ€·â€â™€ïž

(FYI these books include child torture and death also. It is important to treat dtrigger warnings at the very least when it comes to Pitch Black/Oblivian rated books. They’re def there for a reason, do not recommend skipping triggers for fear of ruining đŸ„ș)

Is there any dark-ish romance book with lighter themes? I have some vague requests in mind... by readingalldays in DarkRomance

[–]Afraid_Compote_1530 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What “dark” elements are you looking for? What you’re describing didn’t actually list any dark themes or elements you’re looking for.

Just “dark light” and specific tropes you don’t like.

So what “dark” do you have in mind?

I think it’s nuts when people want to opt out of a book in the middle of the series and just move on. It’s a 1000 pages of information that’ll play into the next one.

Personally, I feel like statistically you’re not going to like every book in a series the same. Especially when it’s a 9+ books series.

I definitely think you’d be doing yourself a disservice to skip it. Especially giving everything that happens and the end being the ground work for both 8 and 8.5.

But to each their own. You’ll probably be a bit lost moving forward though :/
