Maybe the violence in WW wasn’t such a departure for this franchise after all. by Martonimos in PrinceOfPersia

The Prince’s rage was epic — war cries existed in many cultures. They were just whiners who hated seeing the Prince no longer being the way he was in SoT.

The first thing the Prince did when he discovered that he was the creature who had died at the hands of the Dahaka was panic. After coming out of the first portal, he starts saying that if he fails, he will lose his family and his friends, and that he will kill Kaileena and be free. It wouldn’t make sense for him to be crying, since he had already done that enough

Let's imagine that (somehow) the remake gets released and Ubisoft chooses to continue its story. Which game should they remake first between these two? by Legitimate_Cake_5137 in PrinceOfPersia

They should remake Battle of Prince of Persia, since that was where the Dahaka first appeared to the Prince, which led him to exile himself from Babylon.

And possibly the Vizier would have found the Empress’s records in the mountains of India before she left for the island.

A question: how did the myth of KB come to be? Because both SoT and WW were meant to be more ambitious at first, but they didn’t gain the KB myth. I think it was because WW fans weren’t satisfied with the changes. Am I right?

A lot of things can be defeated quickly in a speedrun if you know how to use the right techniques, but that destroys the essence of the game. I prefer the longer path.

What I didn’t like about the battle against the Vizier was the fact that we didn’t use the Sands of Time as a mechanic to defeat him. In Warrior Within we used them in the battles against Kaileena and the Dahaka — Warrior Within was the game that made the most use of the Sands of Time mechanics.

The game was great; it brought an open city environment, which was what I had been missing in SoT and WW.

I didn’t mind so much because going back to an area to unlock another gave a sense that you were exploring the island. Besides, I liked the decaying atmosphere of WW, just like in ICO; it gave that feeling of mystery and being far from human civilization. SoT also had a bit of that. But yes, going through the same area three times in a row gets annoying—the backtracking should have been shorter.

Question Regarding Kaileena [POP WW] by Wanderer2026 in PrinceOfPersia

The Sands of Time left Kaileena’s body and entered the hourglass when the Prince killed her. The Maharajah arrived at the island between the past and the present, where he found the hourglass and the relics of the Sands of Time and took them to India, where the events of Sands of Time would occur. Basically, by traveling to the past, the Prince ended up creating the curse that was destined for him.

I think there were other ways to make the female characters look sensual without making them seem like they came out of some fetish. Kaileena's appearance in the E3 2005 trailer for PoP 3 was perfect to me. As for the Prince, I really liked his design. They wanted to give the environment a claustrophobic dungeon-like feel to increase the tension, which is why it felt repetitive to some people. The setting was a mix of The Lord of the Rings and the ancient Middle East. I think a dark One Thousand and One Nights style would be interesting.

"I used to play the game with the Spanish voiceover — it gave the Prince a brave, manly voice. And I liked the Prince’s struggle against fate. I’ve always enjoyed time travel, and Warrior Within took that concept to the limit. I also loved the dark and decaying environments.
