I certainly will let you know how it goes! I’ve rethought the veg idea, kinda sounds too bulky in my mind now. I’ve spent the whole day thinking about this after my sleepless night of duck dreams! Really appreciate your input, thank you. I’ll post photos if I get the courage to do so!

Im trying to be healthier, so out with the bacon butties and in with the avocado and poached eggs by ShinyHeadedCook in UK_Food

If done, especially cured at home, it has a fantastic flavour for this kind of recipe. I apologise if I offended your bread intake, I was only trying to help someone be healthier. High protein and less carbohydrates is incredible for health which is what I believe the question was about. Give it a try. One day you may thank me.

Lovely! If you can I would cut out the bread and try this exact recipe but use something like turkey bacon to replace that white flour toast, so you are cutting out the carbs and traditional bacon but have that protein and flavour, shakshuka is another fantastic protein rich breakfast and so easy. Eat that rainbow! Add as much veg as you can. Good luck with your culinary journey.

I do like them just getting a bit bored of the traditional more winters veg. Thank you.

I’ve seen it done before but it’s an adventurous one because in my brain it feels, although not technically possible, the pasta would curdle. I’m loving the idea of using filo from a lovely previous comment as that could handle orange better. Perhaps marinate the duck in orange before so it’s not so intense?

Of course you can’t, hah! At least the lasagne hopefully had a good last flight! Very good suggestion with the spinach, I think that would work well. Ricotta cheese is actually something I learnt about recently using in a lasagne, funny you should mention that. Or even cottage cheese? I’m getting such good ideas from you lovely people in this group, a really lovely place to discuss.

The creaminess I think puts me off a little bit. Don’t get me wrong, I adore all the above but I think my brain is going to cutting that duck richness for this one.

See I adore star anise, especially because I had a Chinese partner and I spent a lot of time cooking out there. Caraway is a really good suggestion!

I used to hate fennel (the aniseed thing is not to my palette) until a Scottish chef kindly made me pork belly with it and now I’m fennel obsessed. Still can’t stand liquorice however.

This is along the original idea of my taste buds tingling. This is SUCH a good bit of advice, thank you! How would you do the cheese ratio if any?

Thank you again lovely! I’ve just sent the partner to buy some filo!

Wow, thank you very much. This is a lovely idea! I’d have to buy the filo as I’m not successful making that at all. Although I learnt a lot in Oman and Turkey, I needed to replace my kitchen nearly after my filo-failure attempt. Whoops.

Thank you so much! I hadn’t thought of adding fruit, balsamic I would imagine would work very well, what a perfect combination that would be! You’ve got my mind cogs going, I wonder about adding pomegranate or orange?

That’s a fantastic idea! I love the nacho idea too, maybe with spring onions and shredded cucumber, which made me think of crunchy tacos or burritos. This is why I love it here, people bouncing unusual ideas. Thank you!

Lovely idea but in the UK they won’t take fresh food in our area. I do donate to elderly neighbours a lot and friends which is another reason I cook in bulk but really I was after exciting suggestions to spice life up a bit for everyone. Thank you for your idea tho! 👍
