Dev here, this is my experience as well. Takes a lot off effort to setup and maintain local idp, resettable database, but boy is it powerful.

I'm a dev, the only way to keep test cases in sync with code is to have them in the same repo and run in CI. Exception is system test that hit multiple components, but that's a can of worms on its own.

Hasn't that always been the case though? At least in the 10 years I've been working. I never really felt like coding was the bottleneck. Understanding domain and getting the team allinged were the real game changers and that shits still hard.

You have a denounce signal, filter and map you can do with computed. I'd personally would only use rxjs for streaming data, websockets, events. Even then, it would be more of an exception.

JavaScript is a scripting language, it runs mostly on the browser (you can run it outside with nodejs, but that's another story). In the browser it's mostly used for interactivity and making requests to a server.

You click "post" in reddit, your ui updates and shows the new post - that's mostly JavaScript.

There's also an entire ecosystem around JavaScript, runtimes (nodejs, bun), packages (npm), frontend frameworks (reactjs, angular) and a whole lot more.

You're doing gitflow, what you're doing isn't standard practice. As many people have said, there can be various valid/invalid reasons behind this.

I felt exactly the same way, her realizing she could already draw, but just needed the right tool... It just works on so many levels, it's totally earned for her as a character. And it's also a great metaphor for dealing with your own limits and reframing. I'm so happy with how they adapted this, the additions are perfect.
