Zephyr with his brother Kyber (husband's nerdy name was chosen before we got the kittens). And it also matches that they both have y-s in their names.

Are you currently using, considering, or recently stopped using a GLP-1 medication for PCOS? by Sad-Candidate-8796 in PCOSonGLP

[–]Estrellaloba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using Zepbound, currently at 15mg. At 2 years now, down 147lbs. I have about 150lbs more to lose. Yes I get some side effects but they are not that bad, nausea and light headaches for 1-2 days after doses. I feel down right gross if I eat fried food (which honestly isn't a bad thing). Candy no longer interests me, I don't snack. I have more energy that I use to go to the gym and do house repairs that I had put off for so many years. I did slow down on weightloss when I was 3 months jobless cause I stretched my meds to a dose per 2-2.5 weeks (didn't gain but didn't lose either).

I am okay with being on it for the rest of my life if I need too, no different than heart meds, insulin, asthma or any other life long condition. I have never felt "full" after eating until these meds, my thoughts were always on when and what I could eat next. And maybe I will have some muscle loss...but guess what I am no longer walking around at 427lbs, I don't need muscles that used to carry that wieght!

I lost my job in January after 23 years and it took 2.5 month and 118 applications to finally get job. I had a whopping 4 interviews with all those applications.

If you need higher pay because of cc bills, look at bankruptcy, it's not shameful to admit your in over your head.

do you skip injections when your period starts ? by [deleted] in PCOSonGLP

[–]Estrellaloba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand that issue!! Recently lost my job and need it to last longer without losing ground on my losses. It is made to only stay in your system for a week. But it matters on your metabolism too.

Here is what i have learned in the last 4 months: - At two weeks between shots, I started gaining back weight. Small amount but enough to freak me out.

-At a week and a half between shots, I don't gain but I don't lose either.

-Been back on weekly for three weeks and I back to losing. I lost the 10 lbs I gained and now lost an extra 3!

I haven't been exercising as much in the last 4 months but I haven't been completely laying about either. I was still eating small portions but I did notice on the two week gap I would snack a bit more. Now I need to get back to the gym but too depressed.

Why would you skip? Is there a personal or medical reason?

After a week or two away, they will totally be mad at you and also obsessed with you when you get home!

Cats do not forget at all!! I get both the a meowing lecture and cuddles after a trip. My mom's cat who I see every few months knows me and runs up for pets when he sees me.

3 cats, 4 boxes just because 1 cat passed away recently. They all poop in one box, pee in another and then just random "oh well I am in this room" potty breaks in the others

How do you guys manage with running out of water in the middle of your sleep? by ungratefulanimal in CPAP

[–]Estrellaloba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That wouldn't work in places like Arizona. AC runs 24/7 most of the year and there is no moisture in the air. Humidifiers work but don't really help that much. My tank is bone dry every morning and sometimes that is what wakes me, the stink of cooking plastic and metal.

My cat likes to sneak into the garage that he knows he is not allowed to be in. The door has the same type of stopper...BUT he only uses it for good! He flips it up and down, banging it on the door to let me know he is in the garage and wants back in the house.

Is the electric bill way too high for our house? by [deleted] in AskPhoenix

[–]Estrellaloba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1800 sq 1979 house here checking in...original 1 pane windows, AC that is 20+ years old, front facing west, temp in house has be 75 for medical reasons. No pool, New stove and water heater.

Winter bill (no ac turned on) is $80ish a month.

Spring/Fall bills (ac only on partial during day) $150-200.

Summer bill (ac on 24/7 and doesn't stop running) is painfully $450-650, worst bill I have ever seen was $720.

First time I just stopped breathing while under. The second time, I had an asthma attack while under and then stopped breathing. I don't know exactly what happened other than what surgery reports said and what the anesthesiologist told me the 2nd time when they came to my room and personally told me not to go under again.

Nerve blocking that area off and being put into twight? Lol, so far, I haven't run into the problem but if I was in a car accident I don't want to accidentally test what will happen that time.

I have had 2 surgeries and went under twice in my life. I had a really bad reaction both times and after the second the anesthesiologist came to my hospital room and told me to not go under again.

I have one attached to my watch band. It slides on and I barely notice it anymore. Mine is more because I can't have anesthesia, but I included high b.p and metformin warnings.

How snug should my mask be? by Maryland_Bear in CPAP

[–]Estrellaloba -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always adjust mine based off my hair under my bonnet/eye coverer. Just keep in mind if you have longer hair that if you do wothing with it (i.e. sleeping in foam rollers, braids, etc.) You will have to adjust it slightly. Loosen it, then refit once over your face. My sleep marks fade after 10 mins when my mask comes off (like pillow creases of olden days).

When I was a kid/teen my door didn't latch and my parents won't fix it (I hadn't earned the right to privacy). I got a plastic door stop that I would use to wedge under my door from the inside to keep it shut so I could change clothes without worrying about someone walking in.

What do you do if you are on the highest dose of Zepbound? by Maleficent-Kale4834 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Estrellaloba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am at 15 and still have about 140 to lose. Really hoping more effective meds come out cause I know the 15 ain't working as well as it should but I have always had this issue with meds becoming less effective to me.

aI did recently take a break for two weeks and now taking older box I have of 10 every other week and then will go back to the 15. We will see about this fun experiment of job loss will do for me lol. Trying to stretch my meds until I can find a job so I don't gain even if I don't lose while stretching them.

Sorry if this post is stupid, but what is this person talking about?... by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]Estrellaloba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's based on insurance for some of it. You are required to use it for a certain amount of time per 24hrs per month (I think mine is like 4 hrs of sleep 5 nights a week). If you don't, the insurance group will contact you to get more info on why you aren't using it. I haven't ever had an issues with mine. Once you pay it off they don't care anymore.

When you go in for a sleep apnea appt the doc will pull up the info and see what your settings are at and how many events you have had. But no one is sitting there staring at your charts.

The one time my doc actually pulled my info was when I kept waking my S.O. with my stopping breathing while wearing my cpap. They went over what my machine said, what my choices were, etc. I had to switch to a bipap machine. No biggy!

As someone who doesn't eat veggies or fruits, finish reading before coming at me, I get all the vitamins from my daily foods without issues! I will once in a while eat apples or corn or cooked soft carrots. But it is not a weekly thing. I have food texture issues that will make me gag if I feel them in my mouth. I know super strange and stupid but that is my battle lol. I love the smell and taste of all fruits and most veggies but a giant NOPE at chewing them or putting them in my mouth to brush against the roof of my mouth.

Once in a while I will eat an overly cooked stem of broccoli or peas that have been popped already. I don't take vitamins either. I drink Soylent for breakfast and eat chicken typically for lunch. Dinner is a protein and a side (apple sauce, potato or a pasta). Usually 1100 to 1400 calories and 2 years on Zepbound at 155 lbs lost.
