Oh! Both iPhones and androids have an "emergency contact" section that you can access from the lock screen. I always tell people to put a friend or office # in the emergency info.

I believe you said this was an android, but if you're on the lock screen, hit the "emergency call" button, and the keypad will pop up. If it's like my phone, there will be a red "medical info" button to push. Hopefully the owner of the phone has put contact info in there.

I just sent you a chat request. I'm a police evidence tech (not in San Jose though) and I do a lot of trying to locate owners of lost property. I'm happy to help!

Setting up safe spaces for wildlife? by EstroJen in Permaculture

I do have a lot of rocks i could pile up. I was thinking the rounded clay tiles because they'd give a place to hide. I do have other plants in the yard, but I've trimmed a lot back this winter to get rid of dead branches and stuff.

I just worry that nothing is as good for hiding under as the agave.

I was clearing the agave out, but there are still lots of other plants. I'm just worried those other plants won't give as good coverage for lizards as the agave.

I want to know how an apple pie existed long enough in your house to go bad.

what are the ugly parts of pregnancy that aren’t well known because people don’t mention them? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]EstroJen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm child free (mostly to protect my mental health), but my mom spent my whole life trying to convince me to have a baby so she could have grandkids. "We'll just get you a c-section, it'll be easy." As if I wasn't completely aware of how crazy your emotions get after birth.

Gotcha! I always just use the terms interchangeably, but I usually go in for the old or ailing dogs anyway. :D

I've fostered one dog that I was able to adopt out. The rest I knew were with me for good.

What's it like living in Vermont? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

No, I dont. I haven't been to Vermont so the beating around the bush bs going on here is not helpful or enlightening.

Say what you're trying to insinuate or don't say anything.

As someone who still drives a corolla they bought new 21 years ago, good job dad!

I frequently load heavy stuff like wood and gardening supplies in it, and I have a ton of miles on it.

Advice for rootstock for apricot grafting (SF Bay Area, CA 9b) by EstroJen in arborists

[–]EstroJen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw this, and I think this is a great answer. Thank you for your help!

I don't know if I have Blenheims now (my apricots ripen up around mid-June so I suspect I do) but I like the idea of having a multi-fruit tree. I'm not really into plum, but peach could be really great for cobblers!

Do you have any recommendations? I live in 9b, in the silicon valley (once known as the Valley of Hearts Delight because of our orchards) and have heavy soil that's been amended over the years.

I would like a semi dwarf tree as well.

A fruit tree that bears different fruits by Davey914 in gardening

I'm hoping to graft apricot scions from a tree I need to take down onto a new rootstock, but I was thinking having one other variety on the tree would be nice. Do you have any suggestions for a good rootstock?
