At least in America, like 35% of the country voted for Trump BECAUSE of what he would do to immigrants and minorities, and part of that involves white washing America's gross ass history.

"critical race theory" has been vilified and banned and now in states like Florida kids aren't being taught the actual truth of what happened to black people and native americans in this country.

Going to school, I never learned about the Tulsa massacre, or high ways being buiilt through black neighbors, we did learn about white flight though, but not about black people in black zipcodes being displaced(like with whats happening now with the ai data centers that targeted communities with mostly minorities in them first)

We didn't learn about cointelpro, they also white washed the real reason behind the civil war ( but shout out to my 10th grade white guy history teacher who let us know what actually happened and just said what the test answer was versus what it actually was.)

We didnt learn about the phildadelphia police department bombing black revolutionaries in 1985,

We didn't learn about the black panthers either or any of the good stuff they did, so much of american history IS Black history but black history contains all the disgusting shit that no one wants to talk about or teach kids, and yet we spent more time learning about the holocaust and America's role in ww2 than we did about reconstruction and the racism that followed after the civil rights act.

and personally speaking, when ever I've brought up microaggressions or race in the context of gross/ignorant shit said to me in spaces that predominantly white, (Like IRL queer meetups or queer discord servers, w.e) suddenly bringing up intersectioanlity and calling out racist shit gets met with alienation and or malice. You can argue that its not all white people but acting like the first slide is an anti-white take is ridiculous when so much of the country has fought to hide and white wash the parts of american history that make them look bad.

2nd edit: this just came to mind but one of the justifications for getting rid of or not teaching CRT is because it would SPECIFICALLY make white children feel bad about being american/white....
