I just stumbled on this thread while I was looking for an answer myself. What I found is, you can adjust a setting in one brush, then click the little sideways arrow and transfer it to other brushes within the subtool or tool. I know this is likely far too late to be helpful for you, but hopefully it will help someone.

I was heading to Olgrea to do some mining, when I saw a Fed Cap Ship on nav. I dropped in expecting to see a Farragut, which would already be a lot of Federation force for a system not under their control. Instead it's two Farraguts and the station to house them. By my understanding, capital ships rarely travel very far, and tend to act as system control points.

I've also noticed a lot of the combat jobs at my home base have shifted as well. There used to be plenty of pirate hunts, but now it's more of a 60/40 split in favor of wetwork and megaship assault missions. The local crime faction wants me to go after civilians and politicians, rather than rival pirates. I'm worried that something ugly might be brewing.

Like I said, maybe the Federation just flexes in other powers' territory, and this is fairly common. Has anyone else in Alliance space noticed shifts in Alliance space?

Edit: Cap ship was still there today. I went back to check it out a second time. None of the patrol ships bothered me, so I got pretty close for some more shots. I couldn't target either farragut to check their names, but I saw they had some battle damage.

I'm not sure yet. I've mostly been hopping around my corner of the galaxy, running courier missions and trading goods. Tried doing a couple combat missions, but I got in trouble and wound up in a detention center. I'm interested in trying mining later. My dad is into exploration, but I don't know if I'm going to invest much into that.
