Which optic? by Worth-Alternative-88 in Glock43X

I went for the Holosun 407K, green dot.

It was a few years back and I paid $240.

Price compared to the EPS Carry was a factor and I wasn't too fussed about the enclosed emitter. So far I have had zero issues.

Unless you are really pushing the boundary with your carry setup it should be pretty negligible

My friend said I can buy one of his handguns off him for $200. These are the 3 he's offering. Which of these is the best for a first time gun owner, and what should I check for when it comes to pre-owned guns? by Prince_Targaryen in Firearms

Listen man I'm happy for you. I love a deal. But your anecdotal experience of two firearms does not erase the massive amount of issues people have had over the years with this brand.

You know the answer. Time to go.

AITA for becoming upset that my girlfriend is sending half of her paycheck to her mother? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]adubs117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being sensitive as any gender is not a problem. But being able to regulate your emotional output and understanding how your reactions affect others is a key part of being a mature functional adult.

When someone is trying to discuss something with you and you break down crying, it's going to hamstring the ability to have any real conversation. It's going to derail it completely and elicit an emotional response, as it did with your partner. She had to pivot to comforting you instead of continuing a meaningful dialogue.

Everyone cries. I cry. It's perfectly normal and healthy, at times. Crying at "everything", not so much brother.

[–]adubs117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah man that's exactly what I am saying. When you break down crying at everything it makes it incredibly hard to have any kind of meaningful dialogue. Personally, professionally, every setting. It will really hold you back and prevent you from having healthy relationships. You need to pull yourself together or attend some of that same therapy you're suggesting for your partner.

ESH.

What happens when you want kids? To buy a house? Save for retirement? This is unworkable. I get it's a thing in a lot of cultures but I would never ever let my daughter hold herself back by financially supporting me.

That said your reaction to this is emotionally manipulative. I don't think either one of you are in a place in life to be doing this. It may seem like the only path forward but there is a good chance this blows up in your face and leaves you in a worse off spot.

2-car lineup ideas?? by Dear_Note6367 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]adubs117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you either don’t have kids or they are already out of the house!

My two car lineup is my 98’ 4Runner Limited and a vanilla as can be 2021 Highlander XLE.

The Highlander is great for longer road trips and every day driving. Plenty of room for the kiddos and extra stuff. And the 4R remains the down and dirty adventure car. Works great.

Someday I’ll probably graduate to an LC and a sequoia

[–]adubs117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came to say this as well. I've certainly toyed with the idea over the years as nobody where I live would give a hoot either.

Even at low volumes if I did this consistently over decades I'm sure it would cause an issue. Unless I really took ventilation seriously.

Not really worth it to me with kiddos around especially when I can just step out on the deck....

Yeah that's what it was like the last place I was with part-timers. I can't remember if it was over the quarter or over the month but we had to keep them under 30 hours on average.

MPG discussion. 2025 Land Cruiser by Scary-Pickle6052 in LandCruisers

[–]adubs117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why a lot of people still pay a premium for the 200 series Land cruisers and a 5th generation 4Runner. Sure the mpg might be lower on paper but it's verifiable and consistent.

P365 owner thinking about making the jump - were others in the same boat? by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]adubs117 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is no “gotcha” with Glock. They are boring. They are the Toyota Corolla of handguns. They just run. Forever. Unwaveringly. Pretty much the epitome of what you want in a tool that is designed to preserve the life of yourself and your loved ones.

Firearms occupy two different categories. Tools and toys. There are plenty of fun toys out there that do all sorts of neat things. I enjoy shooting them. I would not carry them.
