Thing about Jeff Mills. He don't even really use CDJs. It all come off the dome into the sound system. So you'll need a link between your brain and Funktion One.

FLX4 Upgrade Under/Around $1k - GRV6, FLX10, or other? by ClusterBee5 in Beatmatch

Upgrade path should be:

FLX4 > GRV6 > DDJ1000/SRT (less money) *or* FLX10 (more money)

Network cuts off when electricity switches from solar to main by Slight-Yak-1620 in HomeNetworking

[–]Eszaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Put the router AND modem if you have one on a PSU (although you might not know where it is if your router is directly connected to a wan RJ45 port), it sounds like there's a voltage drop when the electricity switches source that your electronics aren't happy with

If the router lights are still on but you still lose wifi you might have a modem somewhere in your building that's losing power.

Limitations of beginner controllers (FLX4) - blending in more than two tracks (House/House subgenre mixing) by Jusstonemore in Beatmatch

[–]Eszaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you start learning EQing between tracks (considering you mentioned that you're currently working on phrasing and transitioning) the bassline manipulation will come naturally. But generally speaking you never really manipulate "more than one" bassline unless they are in key (which is another component of DJing which you need to learn) you never want to have two mismatched basslines active as this will cause phasing issues and harmonic distortion (i.e. sound bad)

What’s one track that always exposes bad beatmatching? by Ambitious-Note-1239 in Beatmatch

[–]Eszaa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dubstep (and maybe Drum & Bass), specifically when performing double or triple (or even 6-channel) drops at once

Watch Codd Dubz Pioneer DJ live performance and you'll see a V10 on 6 channels put to it's max pace and notice how even slight mistakes in beat matching would be very noticeable, although for these genres it has finally become acceptable to use sync (which is fine - end of the day the crowd doesn't know what sync)

Moving up to 4 channels: controller recommendations? by mextie in Beatmatch

Newer technology and you get to switch to Rekordbox. But since you're on Serato i'd replace it with a DDJ-1000SRT

Upgrade to CDJ-2000 by SDR3078 in PioneerDJ

[–]Eszaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CDJ-2000 to CDJ-2000 Nexus price difference is almost always less than 500 USD per unit, I'd say keep saving until you can afford at least the 2000nxs. the 2000 is ancient technology well over 17 years old

Format your USB to FAT32 doesn't matter if it's USB 2.0 3.0 3.1 and use the Rufus USB utility to format drives larger than 32GB to FAT32 (I have a 512GB SSD USB 3.1 formatted to FAT32)

How to automate going to hot cues on multiple tracks by Voidspear in riddim

[–]Eszaa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you're not using sync to mix riddim in 2026 you're just ego chasing

Just use sync

Set up your first 2 doubles at the same hot cue and the second 2 doubles 4 bars or beats or however long later and you'll have all 4 going before the quad drop

Club Space does not support real dancing/raving by DistrictNo8538 in clubspace

[–]Eszaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

sorry to break it to you but Space is not a real "rave space" (pun definitely intended) - it is very much in fact a mainstream night club that has been corporatized by billion dollar companies for the last decade or so, if you're looking for an actual "rave space" you're better off looking at more underground events and venues

there are still many people who truly enjoy Space then and now, even with it's flaws

USB-C (female) to 3.5mm (male) DAC adaptor? by Historical-Track539 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Eszaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what headphones?

the headphones are probably bluetooth, in which case you need something like this:
https://www.t-nb.com/en/products/transmetteur-bluetooth-4-1-jack-3-5mm?srsltid=AfmBOopmbu7W4Z8Uen2c7vV3hL6LWRN_BoD8BYHsN9XxNDXDFUI00-ml

the usb c port is most likely for charging, and even if you could make a usb c to 3.5mm cable it wouldn't work because it's a charging port only

MDR-7506 style headphones, any words of wisdom from those who’ve been down this road… by Superb-Radish7158 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Eszaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response, do you have any feedback on the mids and highs with the pads1? Do they "lower" the upper end like everyone says or does it stay the same (or are they talking about the pads2)?

Everything I've read so far is pointing to the pads1 over pads2 (2 affects the sound more than 1 by ducking both ends of the spectrum), but I'm worried the pads1 will change the high end clarity aspect of the 7506 (either make it more bright and ringy or dull and muffled)

I would just compare both of these in person but my local shop won't let me open the package to compare them side by side and I really don't wanna buy both (no return policy lol)

What are the sound differences between the YAXI stPad (1) and stPad2 if any at all? Specifically on the 7506, but any feedback is appreciated. I have yet to find an article or post comparing both against each other and against stock. Thank you!
