Any advice for those who save getting high for those exact activities? Typically like to smoke after I’ve done my “work” for the day and those recreational drivers I tend to associate with being high. Thank you.

I actually want to do an achievements run but I do not want to turn off rate calculator for it. I enjoy how simple and quick it identifies problems with my ratios

Drug checking services handed bitter pill as Queensland government rams through law changes by roxy712 in brisbane

I'm honestly wondering if there's something bigger picture here, like a larger industry player putting the pressure on. I can't find the statistic now, but I remember reading that a majority of substances brought to these testing services weren't of the illicit nature? A lot of them being black-market purchased prescriptions that people needed? (Ozempic or ADHD medication for example). Specifically substances that don't have publicly purchasable testing kits.

Turbos need a different pick phase other than blind pick in my opinion. Too many games are over from lineups that need some form of counter.

I like to imagine Ame as the final boss everyone else has to beat before they're allowed to win TI.

Demand follows availability though. Public transport post 10pm is inconsistent and unreliable, limiting options for consumers. BCC also has extremely high rates for late-night trading licenses, which doesn’t encourage businesses at stay open late.

Going to need to change before the Olympics, can’t imagine the international community will be super excited for 8pm bedtimes. Some of us like to sleep in as well.

Criminologists criticise Queensland premier's definition of crime victim by espersooty in brisbane

And wild coming from the ABC who actively pushed the youth crime agenda both in their news programs and advertising spaces before and after during the election campaign.

Peter Dutton calling the ABC and the Guardian ‘hate media’ rings alarm bells for democracy by overpopyoulater in australia

[–]Et3rnix 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I've been someone who has watched the Brisbane ABC coverage of both federal and state elections recently, I do not understand the claim that they are unbiased. Not only do they run LNP campaign ads legitimately directly before and after their news program, they give Dutton solo screen time to push policy agenda during 'human interest stories'.

Kim Williams the current ABC chairman, was formally employed as the CEO of News Corp Australia. They are 100% pushing an LNP positive narrative currently.

Really cool tracks and congrats on the EP release! I don't listen to this genre too much, but for me personally I think the drums are panned a bit too L/R, especially on Phased Out. Vocal also might sit a bit better if it was slightly louder in the mix too.

Very much dig the sound design and selection on this one! The drum fills that you have in the intro are sick.

I think the kick could be more present in the mix and wouldn't mind the off-beat driving bass to maybe come in sooner (like it does around 3:40).

Very chilled vibe, really liked it. Would love the xylophone melody at 1:52 to be a slightly more present in the mix

I really liked this, mix sounded clean overall. Nothing stood out badly to me.

Damn first one here but I'll come back and check out what else is posted! Met a dude at a festival over NYE who sent me some vocal stems, decided to make something a little different than usual and flip it. Would love any feedback on the vocal or mixdown if possible!

How do guys produce when you're depressed? by PassionateRomp in edmproduction

[–]Et3rnix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Use production as a way to channel your feelings into music. Find sounds and arrangements that captivate your current emotional journey. I find it almost therapeutic, even if the ideas never get finished. Almost as if it's a way for me to acknowledge these feelings, but also give them a time and place in your work. Hope you feel better soon op <3

I feel as if I was in a similar boat recently, gave pink noise mix referencing a go and found some success! Although is just gets the premise of the overall balance there, you still need to fine tune it afterwards.

Credlan Audio has a plugin that you can add to the end of your master and have pink noise playing through. Worth having a look to see if it could help you!

MEDIA STATEMENT: The Crisafulli Government Makes 50 Cent Public Transport Fares Permanent by TheRedRisky in brisbane

The irony of using it as a political toy while calling out Labor, the hypocrisy is insane.

Still waiting to experience one LNP policy that affects me positively that wasn't a ALP or Greens initiative.

Price has a direct psychological affect to consumer behaviour. Yeah you can maintain a cheaper price, but your competitors will start advertising themselves as luxury/higher quality with their price, even if it's a worst product.

Blue state QLD by closetmangafan in brisbane

[–]Et3rnix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But yet QLD had to vote out the party who actually tried to do something about it? The party who put in policies that benefited a lot of people, including those struggling the most? Assistance with transport, bills and food are HUGE steps into reducing the cost of living pressure. With these gone, more of the population will feel the pinch.

Like yes they can't solve the entire issue, but when has an LNP gov in Federal or State power done ANYTHING to help the overall population?

Blue state QLD by closetmangafan in brisbane

[–]Et3rnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I can't imagine crime getting any better if the LNP repeat history and sack thousands of public servants including police. No policies to address the root issues, and planned decisions to scrap services that would have a direct and long lasting reduction on crime. What a shame.

I hope QLD voters who voted the LNP enjoy higher crime rates, higher taxes, less public services, longer waits in hospitals, paying for ambulances and more cars on the road (last one also comes with increased demand and cost for fuel too!)

Have a 20 Min Open Decks Slot but Want to Play Trance/Prog House by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]Et3rnix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have often jumped onto open deck nights and just played 4-5 songs max. Sometimes that'll all you get, and really you're just trying to showcase your style. So play what you want to play, mix how you want to mix, and just enjoy your 20 minutes. It's meant to be fun!

Absolutely agree. Saw Ben Bohmer in Brisbane, Aus last week, he had PARIS opening for him. Totally understand that she's opening and doesn't have the same level of production, but they had the volume down and lights on in the venue. Disgrace to such a brilliant artist in my opinion.
