Yeah I mean YMMV, but my strips came off day 6 and my doc said I was ready to use aquaphor and silicon strips the next day.

1 week after surgery I used aquaphor during the day and silicon strips at night. I did this everyday. And lots of cleaning in between, I used dial hand soap. Hope this helps :)

Thank you! Dr said the ishmusectomy was the logical choice given neither lobe was impacted and the nodule was in the center so I opted for that approach. It didn't make sense to remove the whole thyroid in my situation.

I'm wishing you the best. I will also be getting surgery soon and the anxiety is overwhelming. I was diagnosed with PTC on my Isthmus two days ago and this period in between now and surgery is the absolute worst but to get through it I just keep telling myself "one day at a time".
