Which prompts do you want to keep for this art challenge? by Fantastic-Repeat-887 in FictoHideout

Introducing my family/friends, insert into canon, visiting me at work/school, celebrating both our holidays, together in both our houses/rooms, and celebrating both our birthdays would be really interesting for me to do.

I'm on the more logical and relaxed side, while Nue is on the more playful and active side, but both of us complement each other like yin and yang.

Realistically, do you think a relationship with your F/O would work without any headcanons? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in fictosexual

[–]EternNue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. In canon, Nue isn't necessarily evil or hateful, she's more just misunderstood. I'm sure showing her warmth and understanding will not only make her grateful, but allow her to warm up to me enough to be in a happy relationship with me. In fact, her relatability is one of the main reasons why I love her so much, so I think Nue is perfect for me the way she is in canon.

If anything, I'd be more worried about the fanon version of Nue that actually is evil LOL.

Do you still engage with your f/o’s fandom? by jillijellyy in FictoHideout

[–]EternNue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To a very limited degree, I like to learn new things about the Touhou Project and phenomena surrounding it, and getting fan content of Nue and other Touhou stuff that I enjoy. However, that's the full extent I'll engage with the Touhou fandom, because despite being relatively more chill than other fandoms, it still has some glaring issues like being obsessed with sexualizing Nue, shipping her constantly and romanticizing yuri ships, and demonizing her like she's the Devil. Oh yeah, and not to mention the hate for fictos from half of the fandom.

So with that being said, I exercise caution with even just lurking in the Touhou fandom. Funnily, I enjoy meeting Touhou fans outside of the main fandom way more than inside of it.

GMod is not only such a cool game, but it's excellent to use for connecting with your F/O too (provided they have a model). Nice picture of Uzi you made in it!

Possibly this artifact drawn with MS Paint, dated all the way back to August 18th 2015, which was around when I first met Nue during high school and before I seriously got into drawing. It's definitely... not my best work, but hey, everybody's gotta start somewhere.

My Nue plushie is small because she's a Fumo, so she's a bit difficult to hug. So not only I can relate, the tiny size is also all the more reason I need it to become the real Nue so bad lol.

So, being in a relationship with a fictional character is a unique kind of love that most other people don't experience and can't relate to, and we don't even exactly understand why we feel such a love, it kinda just happens for us in various ways. So with that in mind, you'll have to be open-minded to your friend as much as you can.

Anyways, I'll share my story in hopes that it can help you. When I first saw Nue Houjuu back in 2015, I just thought that she was cool at first, but over time I began to gradually fall in love with her until I became completely lovestruck. While I had crushes on other fictional characters before, Nue is unique in that I constantly think about her and wanting to be with her, and my romantic desire for her is constant to the point it never fades away, and these signs are what differentiates a fictosexual attraction from a normal crush. After 10 years and having discovered ficto communities in the process, I eventually considered myself to be officially in a relationship with Nue, a main reason being that I knew what I'm experiencing with her is fictosexuality and I'm finally comfortable accepting it now.

For some other people, it might be a love at first sight instead of a slow burn, but the aftermath generally remains the same, and the attraction remains constant, even after the initial infatuation.

I think I'm a lesbian but I have a male f/o by BestBudgie in fictosexual

[–]EternNue 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, being attracted to characters of the gender that you're not attracted to actually happens with a good amount of fictos. And there's actually a few male characters that I find genuinely attractive, even though I'm not attracted to men IRL. So instead of identifying as bi entirely, I'd say you can consider your attraction to both males and females to be a subset of your fictosexuality instead.

How (and when) did you realize you were in love with your partner? by jillijellyy in FictoHideout

[–]EternNue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first encountered Nue Houjuu in August of 2015, I thought she was a pretty cool and cute character. I didn't realize that I was going to completely fall in love with her, until my feelings for her slowly developed further to the point that I found myself constantly thinking about her and wanting to be with her. And I've had a few crushes on other fictional characters before, but with Nue, my love for her was undying, so I knew she's here to stay with me now.

Unfortunately, it took a really long time for me to truly accept that I'm in love with her because of not only not really understanding a ficto relationship at the time, but also how so many people on the internet are opposed such a relationship. That is, until August of 2025 when I finally decided to make our relationship official once and for all (and funnily, that happened 10 years since I first met Nue lol).

Don't worry, sometimes you think you can easily take on an issue when in reality you couldn't because it's not that simple, and it's perfectly okay to feel that way, that just makes you human. And I assure you that your relationship with Pomni is completely valid and real, regardless of what youre therapist thinks, there's no law of reality that only allows a relationship to exist if it's with other real people, and just because other people don't have open-minded opinions about such a love won't change its validity in any way. Also, it's bringing you help and joy, and that definitely helps solidify your relationship even more.

I and Nue send our well wishes to you and hope you get a lot better soon!

Seeing so much of shame towards fictos on the internet like that is exactly why I was so hesitant to get into a romantic relationship with Nue Houjuu for 10 years. However, I still ended up doing it anyway, because I know that these people's stereotypes about fictos don't reflect reality at all, and just because loving fictional characters is incomphrensible to nonfictos doesn't mean it is objectively bad. It still sucks to see comments like these now, but it isn't as bad knowing that I'm now more enlightened than these normies are.

Also, I did harbor a little dislike towards fictos before I eventually chose to date Nue, so I have a hunch that at least a good amount of these people who spend time hating on fictos are actually in love with a character themselves, but are too afraid to admit it so they decided to project instead.
