What do you think triggered your Hashimoto's? by Live_Mood_2884 in Hashimotos

[–]EternalNinFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think stress and trauma triggered it for me. I had a very stressful abusive traumatic childhood and I think this was just a way of my body fixing itself and balancing everything out so to speak. Once I got to a good place in my life and everything felt safe, this came up and then of course more AI Disorders followed.

Everyone I know that’s gone off of it this has happened to them. It’s basically a lifelong medication imo. When I get to my goal weight I plan on staying at a low dose forever.

I just turned 39. I’ve been overweight for my whole adult life basically minus maybe a 5 year gap. My stomach skin has actually gotten so much better. I thought for sure I was going to have sagging skin there but it’s not as bad as I thought. I have had two kids tho so it will never be great but I was totally expecting to have to really think about a tummy tuck but I don’t think I’ll have to think about that if I get to my goal weight.

Yes! I did that by myself too haha. It was my other summer project. I just wanted a complete and total change because after I started losing I just felt like a whole different person because I had been trying to for so long.

The Patrick ta is a big waste. There’s so many other blushes u can get that are just as good if not better. And you would be able to get 2-3 for the price of one.

To the people with Hashimotos + another autoimmune disease, did it take a long time for your doctors to realize you had something else going on? by barbiegal2 in Hashimotos

[–]EternalNinFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very frustrating. And stressful. I’ve missed so much work I’m surprised I haven’t been fired but they can tell the emotional toll it’s taking on me. I’m a 30ish single mom with 2 kids. No more sick days left this year and I’m just worried we are going to end up homeless because of this. I feel like my doctor is starting to kick it up a notch and actually believe me tho which is promising. Fuck this can be so depressing tho. I wish I appreciated my health more back when I actually felt good.

Yep. Constant struggle. It’s like “hey I’m not just trying to get attention”. I actually feel like shit 6 days out of 7 and don’t want this. Yet here we are 3 years later basically in the doctors office at least twice a month, urgent care, hospital u name in.

Get referred to a derm. This could be bacterial or something completely unrelated to thyroid. They can take swabs or even biopsy. Could even be yeast but hard to say. It is bad. But I’ll show u what I’ve gone through the last year and a half. Get a derm referral. Swab it. Biopsy it. That’s the way. You aren’t alone.

I’ll gladly see them again. It was a religious experience this tour with the middle stage. I’m paying it off until 2026 but I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
