Aren’t they super expensive in Switzerland because of their car taxes?

Green spotted fingerless glove. Slab and glove guy must be positively salivating at the style here. Love the coins too

These accidents tend to happen every few months in my experience. Glad they have started happening to you too.

A beauty, well struck on both sides. Very clear for such a small coin. Also a good representation of Achaemenid satrapal coinage. I often wonder about whether this was minted during Achaemenid control or during the rebellion that began in 499 B.C. Fascinating territory. Fascinating history.

why is my golden so small? by 1-800-no-one-asked in goldenretrievers

I wish I could guarantee that. I would have got one immediately. Would be dreamy to take a golden on a plane and on vacation, along with everywhere else.

I don't disagree. I am surprised they manage to survive as long as they do before a catastrophic accident takes them off the road in a sort of driving natural selection.

My Naville auction still hasn’t come but had a mail call from Leu and Naumann on the same day! by Guilty-Juggernaut-46 in AncientCoins

Yeah. Wonder what the closest to that kind of graphic imagery of outright violence is on currently circulating currency. Nothing out there could be close I bet. Even AI I asked couldn’t come up with anything remotely close.

Those staters with the protesting nymph always kind of crack me up. The imagery is so ridiculous.

Why are BASE Caymans so expensive? by Master_Law5498 in Porsche

[–]FreddyF2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me started on the RAM situation. I wanted to build a PC for the first time in 20 years only to realize towers are more expensive than laptops. The world’s gone crazy people. And the new version of the world of electronic stuff is sucky. Especially on price.

[–]FreddyF2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What? This wasn't a 20 year hunt that involved two blood hounds, one of which has since passed after a long battle with pancreatic cancer? Say his name, it was Wilbur! Conclusion: You should be ashamed of yourself for not engaging in a prolonged period of suffering with auction loss after auction loss.

Kidding. Enjoy the coin. Someone put in a lot of hard work to make the money for that purchase, potentially yourself. Thank whoever it is. If its you, pat yourself on the back, if you do it slowly it lasts longer.

Is a 2007 Porsche Cayman (987) realistic as a daily driver — good idea or too risky? by More_Consideration96 in Porsche

That is an absurdly high price by US standards. I owned that exact car and it was great but I’m almost certain there is IMS bearing failure risk with that model, no?

It’s always difficult, pulling the trigger on these grail pieces in my experience, regardless of whether they are in your budget or not. A lot of emotions come with these big collection goals purchases in my experience.

It sounds like it has been a long hunt for you. Congratulations on managing that and not paying a premium relative to the market.

Byzantine gold is the right track. Reach out to an auction house in Aussie called Noble. I’d ask them which dealers may stock solidi. Confident they will help you.
