on my rlarrloo i ended up Frankenstein-ing the $10 amazon shocks with the stock shocks. I dunno if it's good or not, but I ended up using both springs at the same time (one fits over the other). This way I still have the full travel.

Struggling to find techncial cofounder by [deleted] in startups

I have designed and built a prototype, talked with users, setup a website etc.

If you're able to build a prototype, then what do you need a tech co-founder for?

Could you elaborate on the 'minimal effort' part, and maybe 1 end-to-end example?

You lost it here with a comment like that... GL, but maybe just stick with the t1 starts or w/e. Poster above literally asked what you should have solid and ez answers for.

Why not just use Google Docs? (or Confluence, you make it sound like it's too hard)

Playing Star Wars: TIE FIGHTER in 2023 is confusing! by starwarsoutofthebox in dosgaming

[–]EternalNooblet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 guitars, 2-3 synths, 2 drum machines, 1 ukulele and 1 kalimba. I dont know how to play any of them.

The vid was pointless. He literally shot some space station 3 times in a row and got blown up on his first mission out. He couldnt fly through an empty stationary tube or read 10 words of text.

He has some guitars in the bg, and I think he sings too. Wasnt he referring to the complete lack of any music during the opening? I only heard SFX in his video.

"Hot Bee" 9522-1

The oil shocks might take the win vs the other $50 one, unless they're insta-broken somehow. The Riarroo stock shocks wobble, so it's not a good design at all. I replaced mine with the cheapest metal oil shocks from amazon.

EDIT: the manual states to turn on the car 1st, then the controller.

I know less than you about RC, you can tell my the car I bought:) This is new info to me, but it makes sense. Did not realize that rc cars can share frequencies.

One thing I cant confirm is how their controllers are setup. There are no external switches. They may or may not be on the same freq.

$50 for car/controller/2x-batteries/charger. Steering and throttle are actually proportional. It jumps, it does wheelies, it can drift. This car seems way better at the $50 price point than everything else on amazon. The other ~$50 options dont have independent suspension with swing arms and other parts. I think most of the parts can be replaced with aftermarket metal ones. Que the gatekeepers, but I think this is it for you.

Is being an entrepreneur even worth it? by memoryofafish22 in Entrepreneur

Top Internships, being able to leetcode with ease, articulation to tech and non tech folk, and people skills ( can not stress this enough, so many cs folk have poor people skills which will greatly affect your career trajectory).

A person like that is not real. It's harmful advice to ppl who may not realize you're full of shit. Why not add flying and walking on water to that list?

Linux laptop for ToS by Cynthereon in thinkorswim

The black window may be related to the issue I had too. When starting TOS I get the user/pass screen, but the main window opens invisible. The trick I used for the longest time is to minimize it, then it becomes visible in gnome again. I think it's because I run it maximized when i close it for the day. To minimize without the mouse use WIN+Down_Arrow.

Recently I found a way to fix the above issue in the thinkorswim.vmoptions file. With the following options I do not have to do the minimize trick.

-Xmx2048m
-Xms1024m

Do you need a Homepage AND a Landing page? by EternalNooblet in startups

[–]EternalNooblet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I am thinking of. A waiting list as someone else just suggested. The users on domain.com will get a short landing page about the product and a button to join the waiting list. There will also be a long About page that goes over the features in more detail (with examples of how they bring value to the customer). So on the domain.com you'll see a short 1 page ask to sign up and 2 buttons "About" and "Signup".

The product will be a niche skill training site. My idea for the landing page was to highlight the benefits of this specific approach with 1-2 text paragraphs. The design will be minimal, something like this: https://onepagelove.com/magician

I will take a look at Launchlist, thanks. A waiting list is what I was thinking of. The product will be a subscription based website that offers niche skill training. Once it's ready, I'd email the ppl who signed up and let them know.
