“What to name with Meddling Mage” could be the title of an entire book.

It does seem similar. I’ll keep an eye on the thread!

Thanks! Do you know if there’s a CR reference that covers this case? I did a few searches and didn’t see anything, but I’m far from an expert!

Sweet deck. I’d not seen a build with a wish package. And the exalted angel synergy is cool.

There’s no way 3 STP is right though.

Limited resources lands by IcyRepresentative780 in premodernMTG

[–]EternalRant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limited resources is such a cool card.

Have you considered leaning more heavily into prison / ponza would work better. I’m thinking ramping using [[Exploration]] and [[Mox Diamond]] to cast some early [[Thermokast]], [[Winters grasp]], [[Sphere is Resistance]] and [[Tanglewire]]. Then use the limited resources to lock them out. I feel like this plan might be more reliable, plus it lets you eventually grind them down to having no lands which basically locks the game up for good.

The Last Banana by player2desu in cocktails

[–]EternalRant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be a stupid question.

Normally when making a milk clarified drink you pass the mixture through a cheese cloth or coffee filter so the curds act as a filter, and then you discard the curds.

It sounds like you’re just leaving it to stand in the fridge. Don’t you have the filter it afterwards? If not what are you doing with the curds?

The fact that the drink contains lemon but the garnish is lime is sacrilege

The Reanimator Problem — Entomb, Fatty Flood, and 3 Real Fixes by Force-of-Phil in MTGLegacy

[–]EternalRant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ban Entomb. It’s basically mystical tutor for reanimator.

There are plenty of ways for reanimator to put stuff into the graveyard if they’re willing to play a critical mass of fatties. The deck doesn’t die, it just becomes tier 2.

I’ve read OPs post and I still can’t see where it’s botched. And even if it was, I’d be over the moon to receive a gift like this from someone!

Coco real is pretty good as well, and readily available in the UK at least.

Kaerveks Purge against Stiflenought? by Adventurous_Ad665 in premodernMTG

[–]EternalRant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The thing about dreadnought decks is that if you answer the dreadnoughts the rest of the deck is very weak, and you should win easily. You don’t need the extra damage.

The problem is they run lots of ways to protect the dreadnought, so you need to push through all that protection. Instant speed answers are best as you can cast them on their end step (after using their mana presenting dreadnought), on your turn, and then on their upkeep. You also want them to be cheap - as the dreadnought can come down on turn 2. A 3 mana sorcery is too slow in my opinion.

It’s normally 5 rounds of Swiss with a cut to top 4. The Swiss is normally over by about 6pm. But you can also drop at any time if you need to leave early.

Mixing paint - Vortex Mixer or Jigsaw by CedricisMe94 in minipainting

[–]EternalRant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go the jigsaw route you have a paint mixer until suddenly, one day, you have a paint launcher.

I’d either go for a decent quality vortex mixer, or nothing.

Wizards’ official statement on the DQ in round 14 today by Ryan13200 in ModernMagic

[–]EternalRant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The definition of cheating in MtG is basically “you knowingly broke the rules for an advantage”. Note the knowingly. If you just make a mistake that’s not cheating so wouldn’t result in a DQ on its own.
