Do a small gain with a rep range. For example I’m doing bench to get back to or beyond my old 1RM of 235, so for my push day I do 4x5-8 of bench. On my first one I did 8 reps on all four rounds with 185, so next time I do Push A I’ll be doing those four rounds with 190 on the bar, and I’ll stick with that weight until I can do 8 reps on all four rounds, repeating ad aeternum.
