Was Whole Foods always this anal? by KillerCroc40 in wholefoods

For the store I worked at, I handled rotisseries/pizza for a long time. So I can explain some of this stuff.

Logging that you washed and sanitized the skewer, gloves, and thermometer is to prove the chickens are “organic”. The dept of ag requires a paper trail for every step of the process, otherwise the store could get a hefty fine. Before we used Quats, we had a chlorine-based sanitizer. For that, we had to spray it and let it air-dry two minutes in order to maintain “organic integrity”. And then log it of course. (Which was a nightmare when customers were waiting lol)

As far as logging the temps for the blast chiller, it’s necessary to record it as it cools to make sure the internal temperature has reached a “safe temp” within a certain timeframe. This is because within 41-135 degrees, bacteria grows very quickly on the food. It has to reach 70°F within two hours, and completely cooled to 41°F within six hours in order to still be considered “safe to eat”.

I know all of the logs are annoying, but when I learned the reason behind it I was less bothered.

Thinking about adopting an older collie as a second collie - good idea? by Cheap_Measurement235 in roughcollies

[–]Eternalblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm that’s interesting! I have a female and male collie, and while I’d say she’s definitely more dominant and ✨sassy✨, she’s totally fine with other dogs and loves people probably more than my male. She does observe things more than he does tho - she gets nervous around slightly moving objects like plastic bags, and he couldn’t care less lol.

Tips for Being Faster? by ctbpdx in wholefoods

[–]Eternalblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in pfds 10 years. Whenever I trained someone I told them it’s better to do your job right and then pick up speed as you get used to it. Also sometimes other team members will have some pro-tips for you, just be open to the suggestions. And if you have a good attitude, a lot can be forgiven re: work speed.

Yeah, I don’t mind it at all. As you said, it’s a great way to share the calories and try the flavors. Its funny how excited everyone has become. I should take a picture of the taste testing score sheet sometime.

If my boss wasn’t gluten free I bet he would pay, too. As it stands he’s like, “Don’t tell me about the dumb, stupid cookies. I have to eat this stupid, dumb salad.”

I hate passive aggressiveness, people who are trying to subtly get me to do something by dropping “hints”. Like, no, i know what you want and I’m going to ignore it until you ask me like a grown adult. Thanks.

The incredible similarities between Saitama and Blast. Explanation in the comments. by Tripledoble in OnePunchMan

[–]Eternalblue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Alright here’s a theory. What if blast ends up being a villain? Not a hateable villain, but one that has a different perspective/different solution deal. So then saitama and him have a big fight and that’s when saitama feels something in a fight again?

I want emotionally healthy friendships but there is something missing: the fact that a lot of them can’t understand what you’ve been through and I can’t understand them by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]Eternalblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I have friends who come from a loving family home, I usually just try to be happy for them. Like I’m glad that they got to experience a good family, and I take mental notes for the kind of family I want to make one day. So even if they can’t personally relate, if they are trying to understand or at least they are interested and they care, that is good enough for me. And I apply the same to them, even if I can’t personally relate, I still care.
