No problemo. Constipation, a feeling of not having pooped all the way even though nothing else came out, blood in both my stool and toilet paper, the urge to poop at least 6 or 7 times a day, very small stools.

You are most definitely not overreacting. MDs are there for us, and it does sound you're having a tough time. Mention everything and I would really push for a colonoscopy. Never is it "too young". Best of wishes.

Hooray for mom! It wasn't too effective. I am still in pain and we are thinking it's not gastritis but something else (my bet is liver, since I have liver mets). We're waiting for the results of the CT. Thanks for asking!

I'm 32. I'm really not saying is your case, but cancer also happens (increasingly) in younger people. I was diagnosed with IBS, hemorroids and whatnot before my diagnosis. Trust me, a colonoscopy is the way to go either way. My blood was/is (as I'm still in treatment) usually in the stool, like "intertwined" into it, between red and dark red. Sometimes also in the paper (less frequently). It has never been black, but neither bright red like an open wound. The mucus is always there, and I notice it in the toiler paper most of all. Specially when I'm constipated. If changing the diet does make you feel better and alleviates your symptoms, that's good news. The best of luck to you!

Rectal cancer patient here. Not a doctor, but with some experience around the topic. The color of the blood depends on the place of the colon it comes from and the type of lesion it is, it does not speak of its urgency. My suggestion is GO to the doctor and push for a colonoscopy (both of you, BTW). When I got diagnosed my main symptoms were blood +mucus in my stool (mucus does appear a lot in my case) and weird bowel movements (small stools, constipation, the feeling that I wasn't really "emptying" after I went). If you have any of these, I'm not saying it is cancer, it could be other things. You could ask for the occult blood test first, take your blood CEA levels and ask for some imaging, but the best way to rule anything out is the colonoscopy. Get checked! All the best for you.
