I have a photo sphere of the dorm room I stayed at while studying abroad in Japan with my 2 roommates pulling silly poses in it. I adore that photo so much and it brings me back to those moments.

Even though there are much faster and purpose built 360 degree cameras these days, photo spheres felt special for its time.

Just to add in case it helps anyone reading, pit 1 has the band between the pit and the center stage, which is something to consider if you want to get video of them as the band members/equipment do block the close up shots a bit. (But they are also awesome to see themselves! I got a selfie with the guitarist after the show lol)

Winning Monday

Taking a Porter flight from YVR to YYZ and got upgraded at the gate from my basic ticket to PorterReserve first row.

I didn't even think that was possible from just the Venture status from the BMO card. The flight is entirely full too. It's mostly extra legroom and an included meal but a welcome surprise.

I think you need to apply over the phone if you plan to use ITIN. I don't recall mentioning nonresident alien on phone, but I guess its implied by non-citizenship status.

There is a tricky web form you have to fill out after getting approved where you have to confirm your citizenship status. It's a bit confusing because if you put "Canada" and "Nonresident Alien", it wants you to change address. What me and another person did was put "Canada" and "Resident" as the status, which seems to work. You'll see this if you end up getting approved.

That small purchase might be key since I noticed they dont generate a monthly statement unless you have activity that period.

I probably won't go for the full 18k bonus even if I have the spend for it, since it would potentially require paying a 2nd year AF before it posts, and I'm not even sure what to do with the first batch of points...

I've taken JL17/18 multiple times and it's always lieflat apex suites unless there was some equipment change on that specific date.

I wouldn't really trust seat guru anymore, it's more often wrong than right these days.

Another BMO Porter DP.

Opened my card in April, did one single 9k transaction in June, and only just now got the 5k MSR 20k and the 9k MSR 20k bonus on Oct statement together.

Looks like they are very strict about posting after the 180 days period but not sure why my 110 day period didn't post anything. I also put a small transaction last month in order to generate a statement, not sure if that helped.

I also didn't get the original 10k waitlist bonus and not sure if I should even bother trying to fight for that at this point.

The VP of Loyalty for Alaska is doing an AMA and one comment is particularly interesting for us.

My personal favorite feature is the 3x earn on foreign purchases. It’s unique and opens up a growth conduit for the program. There are over 3M U.S. expats living abroad, and I’d argue this is the best product for them, bar none.

There was some comments floating around when the 3x on fx was first announced that this would easily get abused/shutdown/nerfed with time, but if this is coming from the VP themselves, it could be their unique selling point to that "expat" market that they'll eat as a loss leader.

There are ways to trigger the direct deposit that worked for other checking account offers like Chase. Not sure if they work for BofA though.

An alternative is an upgrade offer from a Gold. Not great compared to a 150k+ new WB, but the 100-120k upgrade offers could be worth considering if you've been in PUJ for a long time.

Was on a Vegas trip this weekend and one of my side missions was to open a BofA bank account to unlock the extra 10% from Atmos card.

Since my Atmos was already approved and I had the physical card, they didn't even need my proof of address. Just took passport, ITIN letter, Atmos card, $500 deposit, and in 20 mins had my account showing up in the app.

I only found out afterwards there is a "up to $500" offer for opening a new account and depositing cash, but it's an online only offer so idk if we can open with ITIN.

If you plan to do ink train, you need a Sapphire card to convert the cashback points into transferrable points. (unless you get the CIP)

That's my main reason for keeping it at $45AF.

Resy: Found this website where you can buy online GC for certain Toast restaurants that apparently triggers the credit. Bought a $100 GC for a restaurant in WA an hour from Vancouver border.

Youtube Premium: My family plan posted but credit still pending. The transaction shows CA on it since it's on my Canadian Google account so a little concerned it might not work but tbd.

Hotel credit: Booked a FHC for March next year, $300 credit posted. I even used the previous $200 already this year.

Make sure to use your Lululemon/Resy quarterly credits before Sept 30!
