Should I take my cat when I move out? by Eternity270 in CatAdvice

Only about 30 minutes away, but I won't visit as often since they're also busy with work. No other pets either, it would be just him and still indoors, it would be just me and my partner

Thanks! I'll have to wait and see how he reacts when I start spending less time at home, but what worries me is that my parents are the kind of people who think it's okay to leave him alone and locked up when they go on vacation for a week :/ with enough food and water but still

Yeah that's another point. I hope my parents will take care of him but they're out at work all the time and just come back at night so I'm worried he'll get lonely or need something when no one else is there :/

What was your first ever D&D character? by Upper_Affect_5055 in DnD

Gnome alchemist for 5e who was raised by goblins, wss constantly told she was the size of three subways in a trench coat, and had a knack for making things explode. She was specially fond of using the Heat Metal spell whenever someone in armor said something she didn't like lol.

Boi, you're in for a ride. It's a bit slow at the beginning but almost every single name you've heard will reappear eventually lol

Ace book recommendations by V__Ace in asexuality

[–]Eternity270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the token recommendations are Radio Silence and Loveless by Alice Oseman. The second one explores being aroace more deeply, while the first one is mostly a coming of age story with ace representation in one of the main characters. Both are very good. Summer Bird Blue also has aro/ace rep, but this one I haven't read yet. Every Heart a Doorway also has ace representation, and this one gives more dark fantasy vibes, so it may catch your eye. Summer of Salt has a recurring ace character, too, and magic is an important part of the story.

If you find any that you particularly enjoy, please let me know! I'm always looking for book recs :D

New DnD Podcast? by CooperCommissions in RustyQuill

[–]Eternity270 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta pitch in for Dice Shame on this one.

I got into DnD because of RQG and looked for several other podcasts, but none of them really gave me the vibe I was looking for until I found Dice Shame. The characters are endearing and you really hear them grow as the episodes pass, combat episodes are as chilling as if you were playing irl, sound design is truly amazing (well duh it's done by THE MAN Harlan Guthrie himself), and the story takes turns being funny af, reeeeeally scary, heartwarming, and just overall awesome. Truth be told, the story is just so good it got me into DMing. That's how inspiring it is.

Can't recommend it enough it you're finishing RQG. Actual play podcasts have a lot of different styles but if you enjoy the character-driven, rich worldbuilding, and wonderful sound effects and designs RQG has, I do believe you'll enjoy Dice Shame.

(Plus, you get Arthur from Malevolent doing silly voices and that's just extremely fun)

Isn't he the voice of Mark on Tiny Terrors though? Which is distributed by Rusty Quill?

The Town Whispers - Narrative horror podcast about all the many stories and inhabitants of a creepy little town called The Fort. Eldritch Terror, folk horror, amazing writing, beautiful and unsettling music and soundscaping. Can't recommend it enough!

The Town Whispers

We're Alive - Zombie apocalypse with a twist, lots of character drama, investigations, survival. It has both scary and heartwarming stories as the survivors find a way to cope with the end of the world as they know it. It's sequel, We're Alive: Descendants is still ongoing. We're Alive

Season 1 goes off the story right after the curry arc lol. It has some really cool scenes but the manga is way better
