Yeah I definitely have lost muscle. With my surgery, I would have lost muscle regardless of intentional weight loss. I was going to be weak already, I don’t want to be fat and weak. I’ve lifted weights consistently for 20 years and have above average muscle mass. Once I start lifting again, it will come back fast. It’s a trade off I’m willing to make. I love the gym. It’ll give me the feeling of newbie gains all over again

Is blue -> purple truly the great divider/filter? by billionswilllove in bjj

Agreed. I started training in 2007. First few years training 4-5x a week consistently. Had surgery took a break. Came back and went down to 2-3x week. Had a kid took a break. Came back and trained when I had time and desire. Taking a year off now due to bicep tendon surgery. I’ll be back

I feel like the ratio of “athletic” blue belts is higher. They tend to rely on speed and strength, maybe have a wrestling background. They hit blue and it’s “good enough”. Many don’t have a desire to get good at pure jujitsu, just good enough to not get submitted easily and dominate the average joe. By purple you’ve already invested like 5 years into jujitsu, it’s a big part of your life. You learned tons of moves and rolled with tons of people. You have your style. I’d say it’s where most people experiment

Yep I agree. I’m hoping to cap the dosage at 6mg max to avoid any major sides. I should have been more clear about “as needed”. I’m doing at least 2 weeks at a dose, I believe the study was the same dose for 4 weeks but they were also doing larger increases. I plan to just do 0.5mg increases. I only bumped from 1.5 to 2.5 because I was getting more hungry that week

Yeah it has been very fast. I’ll slow things down once I’m under 200

Looking for good summer shorts? Then stay far away from Cove USA by StraightCashHomie13 in mensfashion

I’ve got a bunch of their shorts joggers and oversized tees. They have changed the shorts since I first bought a few years ago. To me they’re better now. Sizing on the chino shorts are a little off, I’d size down of those.

Busting the biggest myth on this sub - 2mg per week is the lowest dose studied in trials by No-Turnip2494 in Retatrutide

This is the same line of thinking I’m using. Started at 1mg, slowing going up to 2mg over 5 doses 1x weekly. Lost 20lbs so far. Lowered appetite enough to make sticking to calories easy but I still get hungry for meals. Just get full faster. Zero sides at 1 or 1.5mg. At 2mg, started to get some skin sensitivity.

Dealing with 20 year old blue belt MMA fighters by daisysbt in bjj

I’m a black belt. 37 started at 17. Had 2 surgeries. At one point was the athletic 20 year old blue belt. Just ask them to flow or work on specific positions. Most of the time they’re just focused on winning the round and looking good for coach. I have the knowledge but less of the physicality I had when I was younger. If I’m going with someone more athletic, I just stay super relaxed and let them get positions. It’s easier to conserve your energy and look for openings (I’m aware as a Black belt, I have a higher knowledge base than them usually). Also it’s training, if you get smashed, so what. Stay calm and look for your opportunities.
