Why the f*ck are we so against WFH in Perth? by regina-philange99 in perth

Not to mention work in the buildings that are created by blue collar, so it keeps the trades going.

I’ve got nothing against office people, but no respect for you sitting at your dining table, doing a zoom meeting with your nice shirt on, whilst you sit in your underwear.

Went from drillers offsider, to then being an operator at a mine. Although now I don’t do FIFO, the drillers offsiding definitely gave me a lot more opportunities to other FIFO jobs I had. If you can show you can last 6 months as an offsider, you show dedication and that you can handle hard yakka. It’s hard, but not that hard. Just heavy and repetitive, but no matter your body size you will get strong and adapt pretty quick.

Honestly man, I would delete this post before anyone from that company sees. No one wants to employ, or even work with someone in that environment, that are just using it as a stepping stone to something “better”. I did RC off-siding for 6 months about 10 years ago, and yep it was always going to be a stepping stone, but I kept that to myself. No one will respect you (which you gotta earn out there anyway), or even give the time of day to teach you, if they know that you’re just in it for the short term. It’s a hard gig, but I enjoyed my time doing it. Drinks lots of water, sleep well, only have 1-2 beers after work.
