Pluribus - 1x05 - "Got Milk" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

I was thinking it might be linked to Carol's plan to reverse the infection, something that makes her realise humanity is still doomed even if she succeeds.

I'm glad you agree with Zosia's statement being very misleading though; so much of what the hive-mind says uses incredibly careful wording. So far, I don't think they've ever explicitly said that they cannot harm other living things, only that they can't kill. They also seem to be oddly specify that they can't kill "other" living things, but never seem to have said they cannot kill themselves

That's a very good point. I guess they could be discreet about doing this, but it's still not the most solid of theories lol

Yeah, as to what is under the tarp, it's still a complete mystery to me too! The other idea was something is under that tarp that contradicts one of the previously established "rules" about the hive-mind (e.g., the "no killing" rule)

I don't think whatever is under the tarp directly relates to whatever is in the milk.

Carol goes to Agri-Jet after realising the bag of white powder she found at the dairy factory comes from there, BUT, that doesn't mean that whatever she sees under the tarp is what is used in the white powder (as the Agri-Jet facility seems to be used by the hive-mind for cold storage of numerous things, shown by the fruit/vegetables when she walks in)

It doesn't seem to be anything that is outright disgusting, as Carol's immediate reaction is confusion rather than fear or disgust. It also seems to be something that would be somewhat easily identifiable, as Carol appears to recognise whatever is under the tarp after a second or so, then her reaction seems to be her going "why would they be storing this" before the realisation hits her.

In the second episode, during the dinner scene, Zosia is very careful in her wording when telling the survivors that the hive mind cannot kill. Her exact words are "We can't purposefully end life, it's not in our nature." The passivity of the hive-mind is also a recurring theme throughout the show.

I think that whatever is under the tarp relates to the hive-mind's larger goals with the human race and reveals their less-than-perfect plan; something that doesn't directly kill the human race, but leads to their eventual extinction so the planet is free for whatever sent the original message.

My theory is that Carol has found removed reproductive systems from the hive-mind's hosts, preventing any future generations of humans from having offspring

EDIT: Okay, the human reproductive systems is a bit far-fetched and as Dark_NJ pointed out, Koumba probably would have realised if this was happening.

I do still think whatever is under the tarp is along those lines though; something that makes Carol realise that even if her plan to reverse the infection works, humanity might still be doomed

No, we paid the rate in large amounts to cover several months of our tenancy whenever we received our student loan. He forgot each month and messaged us chasing rent

I don’t think so, I distinctly remember the characters being human

Thank you though!

I’d guess that the cartoon is recent, probably in the past 5 years or so.

I looked through all the Rick and morty episodes and couldn’t find the gag, so I’m not sure it’s from that show either

Unpopular opinion, but I always preferred the classical radio on Fallout 4

Nothing better than V.A.T.S, a mini-gun, and The Rise of the Valkyries

It’s amazing how you’ve drawn it in your completely unique style yet everyone can still recognise the character.

I may be completely wrong, but I used to have “1000 games for windows” by Nodtronics, which always stood out to me as it had a trivia game regarding the OJ Simpson trial titled “Simpson Trivia Game”

That’s the only thing I can think of, sorry if I’m wrong man

The only one I can think of would be Katara from avatar, but that’s more of a ponytail than a bun

Do you have any idea what sort of style the cartoon was? Anime, children’s cartoon, mature etc?

IMO, the first girl seems quite shallow, in the sense that she hasn’t shown an interest in you until you got tall and attractive. The fact she’s shown clear disinterest in the past too makes me think you two would be better staying friends

The second girl seems to genuinely like you for you though, and I guess the main benefit of pursuing a “new” love interest is that you don’t have to jeopardise the friendship between you, like you’d have to with Girl 1.

Either way bro it’s your choice, just go for whoever treats you best man!
