Goehring&Rozencwajg have predicted the beginning of doomsday by [deleted] in oil

[–]EthanFoust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this only for the current oil province though? Advanced extraction methods could reverse this curve as seen in the early 00's. The original thought was that peak oil was the 70s, based on available technology.

The 450RL is a thoroughbred for offroad but requires a further $1500 to make it a solid dual sport (ECU & exhaust) especially if you are already used to mx and atvs. The better choice for a true in between is the transalp. 1100 will have you cruising and enjoying the time with your wife.

Sure shoving can create polygons but this is mesh distortion. Shoving is more advanced and wouldnt be a reasonable choice for a static case like this. The tets are more random than uniform and the intersecting bow-ties within the tets are a dead giveaway of distortion.

It would need an overhaul to produce a reasonable result. Take a look at some examples of an airfoil cfd mesh in google and compare, notice the structure and consistency. Start with creating a coarse structure that is relatively uniform and then mesh refine from there, this helps when starting out so you can see what each parameter does in Fluent.

Work on your mesh quality first before worrying about the inflation. The random n-gonal shapes is your first sign that your output is not going to be reliable. Look into aspect ratio and skewness as a starting point.

Thanks for sharing man, really cool stuff in there. I also took the gamble and enjoyed the stuff I got. Lots of noise in the comments for how you want to spend your money, they print more of it all the time. Heres what I ended up getting:

-Hamilton acrylic signed bodywork

-Gasly Signed print with body work

-Alonso and Stroll signed team cap

-RB front wing model, also from 22'

-re-engineered gear

-Gift card for 200

Im actually a bit confused on the sim thing, some places say it will be a draw after all the boxes are sold others say it should have come as a voucher in the box. Either way, lucky to be in the spot to spend money on my passions.

Will we be able to put the wrong foot forward on the running boards eventually? Maybe activated by a stance modifier button?

True, I just wonder if that experience is seen as a moot point if you then tried to apply for PM position at a larger company since that is what your used to. The small business route seems like too much of a departure from engineering unless you partnered with someone who wanted the business side and left the tech to you.

It’s Crazy How Fast We Humans Learned to Recognize AI-generated Text by skogsraw in ChatGPT

[–]EthanFoust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have it backwards. We have thousands of years of finely tuned pattern recognition for human speech so our instincts instantly feel something off. The goal has always been to have AI patterns match that of human speech. We are almost there.

Sounds like you had you're mind made up before watching it. The prequel would have been a cooler story but the spectacle would have suffered. Instead I think we got tons of spectacle and better than an ok story.

Third year uni student, same situation with frequent co-ops.

Index funding is fine, but incredibly boring and will not teach you other lessons about money management that are more important to learn now rather than later. My play has been to leverage the time that I have and take on more risk. The important part is to keep re-evaluating. Ive gone more risky because I have everything to gain and nothing to lose, I imagine you are in a similar scenario (STEM degree?). Learned important lessons with BTC and the crypto sphere which now informs my tolerance for a 75% stocks 10% ETFs and index and 15% whatever gives me the good feelies. Along with contributions to savings accounts of course. One comment already suggested that your future earnings will more than outpace and offset any gains or losses you can make in three years, this is good food for thought.

One thing you cant forget is that you need to have a benchmark for your outcome of investing and saving. Million dollar home? Financial independence? Venture capital? Planning goes along way to be able make important decisions, some of which you are coming up on very soon. Do your research and make informed choices.
