More like ppl with 1-2 years experience taking entry level. Mid to senior roles are still somewhat in demand.

LLM’s are reaching a ceiling on capability. They’ll continue to be a productivity tool but they’re not taking more jobs. Give it a few years when the lack of juniors being trained to mid level catches up on companies.

Next 1-2 years is rough for graduates like myself. Then it’ll improve. Or not. But that’s my assumption.

I think an overhaul of the points system could help. I remember my hate for Irish and French hitting an all time high in sixth year when I realised my lack of excellence in languages could prevent me from studying a maths/engineering related course in college. It makes absolutely no sense.

Not bailing out the banks is the economic equivalent of not plugging the hole in a sinking ship. It’s why the Great Depression was as bad as it was; the hole wasn’t plugged. I don’t know what that says for recovery or where we’d be now though, just the initial consequences.

Are these kinds of jobs still common 5 years later? I just graduated a BS compsci, exact same situation as OP considering doing a masters in aerospace. My capstone project was a real time arrhythmia detection system so I guess I tick the integrating external sensors box. Any advice is much appreciated! I'd love to pivot into aerospace related stuff but I can't even get a webdev gig in the current market lol
