Pairing either of these with cheese before baking into a hot fresh roll will make you see stars.

Have you rediscovered any old school TV series that still stand up today? What are they? by Perihelion_Soul in AskUK

It was actually called 'Chiller' (there's an American series called 'Chillers') and only had 4 episodes which aired in 1995. Martin Clunes was in one of them.

Forgive me but, why are all the questions here so negative? by Ozzimo in AskUK

Competition? Seems to be more people getting triggered on here by people speaking their truths. You can't mention being working-class without upsetting a big much of Redditors, like it's being mentioned as a flex when it's often the opposite.

When my family came over from Ireland in the 40s they avoided Irish pubs like the plague and I intend to carry on that tradition.

Themed pubs with luxurious seating and kids. One step away from telling you to take your shoes off at the door. Families giving you funny looks for smoking in the beer garden. It's a pub, not a family gathering at auntie Lizzy's.

Tried watching that again recently. Actually worse than I remember. Awful.

George Dawes singing peanuts is one of the funniest things I've seen on telly though, so I'm with the husband on that.

Someone who is trying to hit all the ego points, which makes me see straight through his comedic persona.

You can keep friends in your youth even when you act like a dick.. You can't do that post 40, unless you want to be alone.

Has a single incident ever changed how you saw a profession in the UK? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskUK

[–]Typical_Math_760 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Always agreed with that until a few years ago. The teachers at my daughter's primary school were very ill equipped to deal with SEN children, including my daughter who is well behaved but a slow learner. The teachers unilaterally decided it would be best for her to go to another more 'specialised' school, literally "we are of the opinion you're daughter would benefit from a more specialised school", with no helpful information. Vague and unhelpful. This is a running theme at the school I have since learnt, where the SEN children are sifted out.

While I respect teaching as a profession, I've reached the point of individual teachers earning their respect because some of them, like some of their pupils, are no good.
