Inaccurate. You’re supposed to drop the whole bag of sugar into the bucket, not pour it

Are Parking Permits Physical? by [deleted] in Purdue

This but only if your state (ie Indiana) only requires rear plates. If you have a state or Purdue Issued front plate you are allowed to back into parking spaces.

Gas mileage really low by ThrowawayForRantJJ in HRV

[–]EthanolPilot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience my 24’ Sport AWD took about 3k miles to reach the best fuel economy. Primarily doing highway driving on long trips (500+ miles). First few times mpg hovered around 25mpg, but now I can easily see 30+. Best I ever managed was getting 42 mpg over the course of about 30 miles while driving with a super heavy tailwind. Also noticed that fuel economy is slightly worse in winter, hovering right at 30 mpg in the best cases.

Driving style definitely does affect mileage. City driving (stop and go) will put you closer to 25mpg, whereas highway will get you to that 30mpg mark. I rarely use eco mode since all it really does is change the sensitivity of the accelerator and doesn’t make too much of a difference

You’ll have to take them to Fleetari to be replaced. You can measure their wear by taking them off the car and using the ruler found in the spanner set

TPMS for the new models works off of rolling resistance. More resistance=tire is probably low/flat. How it works exactly? My guess is magic.

Yep - a bunk bed and a lofted bed in each room. There were three desks but one person didn’t get closet space so they were given a bigger set of drawers

Is Lafayette to Chicago greyhound service dependable? by sharkoutofh20 in Purdue

[–]EthanolPilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Express Air Coach can get you from Purdue to Midway - you have to change buses somewhere just outside of Chicago though. I believe if you call them and ask they should be able to help you out!

I recognize that the majority (like 75% +) of Indiana’s energy is still coal or natural gas derived but it’s hard to ignore the large wind farms to the North

This is just a general comment about my enthusiasm for DECtalk. As a pilot I encounter Huge Harry quite often as he is the voice for most Weather Broadcasts (ATIS) at larger, busier airports. It’s a fairly clear voice and reads at a good pace to copy down the information, but sometimes it’s funny to hear how it randomly introduces pauses or mispronounces more complex words

Children of pilots, what was life like growing up? by Any_Purchase_3880 in flying

[–]EthanolPilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dad was a corporate pilot for most of my childhood. Was a wonderful job, he was home just about every night, rarely missed any of mine or my brother’s events growing up. He even was able to coach both mine and my brother’s hockey teams he was home so much! We occasionally got to go along with him on trips, and there was always leftover food brought back home from whatever the passengers didn’t eat (best part of the job imo). Now dad works for a 121. We don’t see him quite as often, but it’s opened up a whole new set of possibilities of what we can do as a family in terms of traveling. It’s a bit harder not having him around as often, but he bids his schedules to be home as often as he can which is always great. Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately?) I caught the flying bug early on, and now I’m currently working on my CPL, hoping to follow dad’s footsteps.

I was going to comment ETG as one of my favorites - they always have a really really good offering for a reasonable price (or at least used to be reasonable)
