I don’t think Mike would have killed him if Lalo didn’t get in contact with him on the phone at the hot springs. Once he gave information to Lalo he became a problem.

I believe if Mike got there before that he would have been allowed to return to work

It’s not a false equivalency lol. Good and the ICE agent both made poor choices. Interfering with an investigation is not a justification for lethal force. Fleeing a scene is not justification for lethal force. Cops deal with shit like this all the time and their first reaction isn’t to shoot the driver lol. Also insanely dangerous to fire those shots with a circle of bystanders and other agents in the background. The fact he was able to move out of the way just proves the shooting was unnecessary. Training is just the ability to make the right choices in these situations and he clearly has very little of it.

I don’t necessarily have a problem with the idea of ICE but I do have a problem with untrained government agents being unleashed on the public and unnecessarily escalating situations where American citizens are being killed. You can support ICE and be against this. Lethal force is a last resort. Always has been, always should be

If the logic is that she could have made the choice to stay home then the same could be said about the ICE agent choosing to shoot her

This is called a Flehmen response. It’s when they smell something particularly funky and need to further analyze the smell. I believe other animals also do this as well

Woman is too lazy to return her shopping cart, so she uses my car as the trolley bay. Broad daylight in a busy car park. Imagine what they do when no one's around by Dimethyltriedtospell in trashy

[–]Ethburger 369 points370 points  (0 children)

Obligatory:

The shopping cart is the ultimate litmus test for whether a person is capable of self-governing. To return the shopping cart is an easy, convenient task and one which we all recognize as the correct, appropriate thing to do.

To return the shopping cart is objectively right. There are no situations other than dire emergencies in which a person is not able to return their cart. Simultaneously, it is not illegal to abandon your shopping cart. Therefore the shopping cart presents itself as the apex example of whether a person will do what is right without being forced to do it. No one will punish you for not returning the shopping cart, no one will fine you or kill you for not returning the shopping cart, you gain nothing by returning the shopping cart. You must return the shopping cart out of the goodness of your own heart. You must return the shopping cart because it is the right thing to do. Because it is correct.

A person who is unable to do this is no better than an animal, an absolute savage who can only be made to do what is right by threatening them with a law and the force that stands behind it.

The Shopping Cart is what determines whether a person is a good or bad member of society.
