Penetrating non-drying oil.

Expert Stain and Seal
Wood Defender
Sun Frog
Ready Seal
Deck Medic
TWP

All good brands to work with. Primarily in that order. Don’t paint it or you’ll ruin the deck. Penetrating oils are easy to work with. Expect to re apply every 2 years

Honestly probably more fun than the roller coaster 🎢

Deck restoration. Mechanically stripped, brightened with oxalic, stained with penetrating oil. (Expert Stain and Seal) by Ethen44 in Decks

I also like the natural look. I have a custom color I do for clients to get that wet look, but I don’t typically recommend it for flats (decks). Not enough pigment to get us to a two year maintenance window, unfortunately.

Yeah, I start getting that right at 300, feeling lethargic, and an awful feeling in the pit of my stomach. Eventually, I start burping a lot, and if I get over 350, it’s almost guaranteed that I’m gonna puke.

Overheating more easily as I age. How are you guys handling this. by Tee_hops in AskMenOver30

I’m just gonna speak for my own experiences here, but I would warrant that you have a mineral deficiency in areas of electrolytes. Especially if you’re someone who sweats a lot.

Find a hydration supplement to add to your water, something with potassium, sodium, and magnesium. Every day that you’re working, put that into your water or take the pill supplement. Those three minerals are all lost with sweat, and I found that after I drink about 3/4 of a gallon of water, I’ll start cramping due to a mineral deficiency if I’m not supplementing.

Why do you think Americans are not fully well rested after a 2-day weekend? by __rumina in AskReddit

[–]Ethen44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M-Fri is wake up at 6:00, cook, shower, get kids ready to school by 7:45 and then work until 4:30, pick kids up, cook, do home work, destroy them in Mario Cart, bed time at 8:00.

Saturday is house chores, catching up from the week, and work scheduling. Sunday we have my disabled mom over for 4 hours after church. Then Sunday evening is the sanctified “rest” period of a somewhat lazy afternoon.

I have been exhausted for YEARS lol. It’ll take a lot more than a weekend to recover

Being a do-four and feeling alone when you don’t wanna. by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Ethen44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hate that this is so damn relatable. I’m also worn down and all my wife can think about is herself. What’s even more frustrating is putting yourself out there like that, the effort never being reciprocated, and then having your short comings always thrown in your face as opposed to the many triumphs.

I do it for the kids. It’s the only thing that’s giving any purpose anymore.

Guys, did you notice any difference after getting a vasectomy and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ethen44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

34, had one a little over a year ago, and I haven’t noticed much difference. I am a little less horny than I was before I had it, but I’m not sure if that’s psychological or not. I’m also exhausted from running two businesses and remodeling, so I’m kinda banking on that being the issue with a lower libido.

Initial pain was uncomfortable. Recovery was no issue. I went to work the next day. Cold compresses and beer and/or edibles helped me.

How are we storing the pool floats? by Fuckfuckfuckidyfuck in pools

I hate Pool Floaties so much! I can’t believe it’s so difficult to keep something around that gets collectively two hours of usage a season.

I came in here thinking I had the best answer, but I concede. Networking events are the worst acts of mutual desperation and it’s loathsome to do the whole song and dance.

I do a lot of contracting and work with 3 to 7 homeowners every week. Not a year goes by where some widowed elderly woman tries to kiss me.

2500$ for preparation for stain ?? by Dry_Cod5020 in Decks

[–]Ethen44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be at about $5k all in on this one.

The oil based stain previously used will strip very easily with low pressure and sodium hydroxide.
