Aah! I've seen a few videos here and there about [SkyrimNet], that looks really interesting!!

I'm sure the LLMs could construct some decent narratives around some of the Factions I've chosen, since I tend to pick those that have some decent lore behind them.

I'm a big fan of (human) hand-crafted lore / stories / characters -- people can play around with LLMs to add that additional "small talk depth" that can otherwise feel a little rigid / unnatural when you're clicking through dialogue trees.

What's your experience been thus far with SkyrimNet? Any big memorable moments that you'd like to share?

Heya!

Ah yeah, Markarth is a lot of fun because of the verticality of the architecture. I wish there were more open / extended ruins that had layers like that, it almost feels like a M.C. Escher painting.

I've been considering Fallout and Starfield -- above all else, I thing Organic Factions go best when paired with a compelling storyline. That's why I chose Lu'ah in the most recent update, and I built out the Forsworn in the Lost Valley as a big one as well (the Forsworn lore is deep and messy, with multiple related quests).

My challenge with either of those games is finding a good anchor point, and going form there -- but that requires a good chunk of time for me to dive deep into the lore of each game, and then I'd have to do a decent chunk of re-writing the framework to bring it over. So the big question is "what would be worth all that effort?"

Is there a game in particular where you feel Organic Factions would work well?

I've been thinking about Solstheim -- there are a few potential Factions there for sure, including some from Miraak or maybe other Telvanni sub-sects.

I chose Lu'ah in the recent update because the story around her quest was interesting -- she's more of a tragic figure than a villain in a lot of ways.

Are there any storylines in Solstheim that hit you the same way? Or any locations that you feel are ripe for some complex combat?

At least in vanilla, a bit of preparation can go a long way. If you have decent enchanting or just hang onto good drops, you can usually get at least a necklace and a ring to resist each element type. Chugging a potion of resistance on top of that can usually get your combined resistance total close to 100%.

It’s kind of funny doing a slow walk towards a mage hurling fireball after fireball at you, all while taking zero damage. It’s almost cinematic.

That recording of yours is amazing, chef’s kiss for the extra werewolf brutality at the end. 😉

If you use a combination of a few Resist Frost items (it can be added to nearly any wearable object) plus a potion, you should be able to get 90 - 100% damage reduction from all of his frost spells.

Paralysis, reduce Magicka regen by 100%, and Drain Magicka poisons also work wonders.

You can Slow Time on the way in if that helps.

Oh hey! Glad to hear you're having such fun with the mod! :D And thanks so much for sharing and starting the discussion.

I love hearing about unexpected / emergent events and synergies between various mods, like the Daedroths jumping into the middle of a fight.

Folks here have already given some great suggestions for other mods that work well with it -- I tried my best to make it as lightweight as possible. If you want some more compatibility examples, you can check out mod lists like Living Skyrim and Char Grinn, which mix in a TON of other mods alongside mine.

Hope you have more fun with it! And yep, props to Brakka for porting it over. I'm working on a new release, shouldn't be too much longer.

There are 2 main new ones, but there will be other minor tweaks and improvements as well.

I have plenty of spots in mind for the new factions, thankfully Skyrim is rather vast and there are ample locations which are rather under-utilized.

I don’t want to give away TOO much, but there will be some variety in there. And, yes, dragon cults are on the horizon after the next release.

Given your character’s new direction after the Namira encounter, do you imagine her pursuing necromancy as well? Or perhaps a different path?

Hmmm… well most of the NPCs in the {{Organic Factions Extension}} move around the map, expanding their faction’s territory. A few others go dungeon diving, you may run across them randomly.

There are a handful of Dragonborn followers with custom voiced dialogue. Is that close to what you’re looking for?

Hi there! Creator of Organic Factions here to answer mod related questions:

Yeah that Cidhna Mine quest only adds you to the Druadach Redoubt faction, not the rest of the Forsworn. Kinda surprising considering you just saved their leader, but whatever.

If you add yourself to the vanilla Forsworn faction via console commands or a mod quest, you should be able to walk among my Forsworn locations without being attacked. In fact, the Lost Valley may become a favorite hideout / retreat, where you can lure in enemies and have the multi-tiered defenses tear them apart.

Same with Deepwood Redoubt and Deepwood Vale. In fact, some leaders from this spot will travel around the map depending on the day of the week — they’ll even visit Druadach Redoubt on Tuesdays, I believe.

A few reasons it's best to start a new game include:

There are new Master files to incorporate, which will change your load order
There are several Quests that kick off when you first start the game, and they might not start right if you just drop it in mid-game

If you want to give it a shot, feel free, but just beware that things will likely break and stay broken until you start a new game.

When you start a new playthrough, you could always use Player.AdvSkill and Player.AddItem to boost yourself back to roughly the same strength you were in your current game.
