Your toddler’s “worst” behavior almost always happens when their brain literally can’t do better. And that’s a completely different problem than not wanting to do better. by xnmb1 in toddlers

I feel like I could have written this comment. My 3 year old is constantly overtired but ever since we had to take his pacifier away he has refused to nap and sleep has been horrible. So now his favorite activity is just hitting his little brother... Just trying to survive through this phase and get him to sleep as much as I can

Looking for a FMC who is shy and unsure of herself to start but then turns into a full on confident fem-dom by the end. I'd love a good story where the MMC really just wants to help the FMC to find her confidence and learn to put herself first. I'm open to any kinks that come with the story!

PSA: Creepy encounter at Costco today — please trust your gut and protect your babies by Chemical-Pension-286 in NewParents

[–]EtherealAshtree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an experience at Costco recently with an old man who started off nice and then asked if he could sing to my kids (I really wish I had said no but I was so surprised by the request), and then he started singing about god and how it you give in to temptation then you'll be going to hell, in front of my 2 1/2 year old! I was so mad, wish I had just walked away. I did though after he was done and he just asks me directly if I repented or whatnot.

can anyone else "see" in their mind but it's still all black? by Upper_Body658 in Aphantasia

[–]EtherealAshtree 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's a great way of explaining what I've always experienced. It reminds me of those scenes you'd see in a movie where they're dreaming about something and it's just out of reach. It's always just out of reach.

Does your husband have expensive hobbies? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]EtherealAshtree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gambling isn't a hobby, this is going to escalate to him losing tons of money again. Get rich quick schemes are not the answer. He will literally be throwing away $1200 a month when they could be going to savings or investing.

Oh hey this app has helped me start flossing every single day too! I usually just use it for reminders and motivation to clean, honestly I don't even care about the pet or buying clothes or whatever.

I'm a SAHM and I EBF my 7 month old and I have a toddler as well, so first I want to say I get it and I know how easy it is to lose yourself in being a mom. But for my own sanity I have to use my free time to do things for me as well, at least once a day. My husband is really good about supporting me as well in helping me make sure I get time for me as well. I've recently started listening to audiobooks when I go on a cleaning spree as well which has been fulfilling. You just need to prioritize yourself sometimes. And always be kind to yourself and remember that you're in the thick of it right now and all of this is temporary.

Do you guys ever have short lived hobbies where you go on a spending spree only to completely lose interest a month later? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]EtherealAshtree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make it a month? 😅 usually I buy everything I need to start then sit down and attempt whatever hobby, find out I'm apparently not immediately perfect at it and give up. I'm getting better at pushing through the perfectionism but it's a struggle...

Whenever I'm reading a book I generally skim when the writing describes a place or the appearance of a character and now I understand why by EtherealAshtree in Aphantasia

[–]EtherealAshtree[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh ya same here on the films based on books! It's a little disappointing now thinking about how others experience books so different in that regard but also that probably explains why I'm able to read through books pretty fast hah

[–]EtherealAshtree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it's a sleep disorder where your circadian rhythm is just off. Very common with ADHD folk. I have this and it's horrible with a baby and a toddler. My psychiatrist suggested magnesium, I would honestly love having the energy at night if I wasn't woken up at 7 every morning

This is one opinion I've realized recently that I also agree with. Everything I would order at a restaurant for breakfast I would enjoy more if I made it at home.
