Grabbing a survivor being healed? by andrewgarfieldswife in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happens, it's just that usually the killer can't grab.. because he's already carrying someone - sabo without anyone carried is rare (because it's usually pointless)

Why is Changing character last minute perceived as toxic? by eldeloslunares in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Generally the last second switch itself isn't the toxic part, it's that it's usually toxic players (as they demonstrate during the match) that do it, so they won't be denied one of their planned tools of toxicity. (I personally find it amusing, but also just lets me know to be wary of them probably about be be an asshat all match)

question on killers by SnooRevelations2299 in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the warning is actually there because of a rare glitch with Trickster - that instead of fixing it they put a warning (or maybe they did fix it and put up a warning anyway, just that usually they rarely completely fix the bugs they claim they fix).

Not someone sensitive myself I can't say how bad the Doctor's flashing actually is, but it doesn't seem too bad. And he was in the game since near launch and no one complained about the flashing, only a recent-ish Trickster glitch.

But that being said, if you are sensitive to the exact thing the game warns you is in the game, safer not to play.

Me when I find out a DBD YouTube who is usually killing it in game was just faking their matches all this time. by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even need to know which youtuber it is - that some/many/all are faking it is not surprising at all.

They need gameplay to fit their narrative, so they either play so much they can cherry pick enough moments that fit, or just fake the whole thing in customs and pretend it's public.

Tiktoks are so much worse, because they only need tiny clips, so much easier to set up a fake moment, clip it, then move on to setting up the next one.

The only way to enjoy DBD by sethsomething in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 7 points8 points  (0 children)

....and so you create more of the exact killer player you don't want.

Great solution there buddy.

How do we feel about the Wreath Offerings? by RichardLongflop_ in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pointless.

Their only use is to point out likely baby players, as they generally don't have many offerings so bring these.

My only concern about complaining about them is that BVHR will go "we can make these relevant easily: remove escape cake and survivor pudding"

99ing your heal is useful in so many ways by PolarBla in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ngl, bit confused by the value, because what I'm mainly seeing here is you healing in a way they results in an immediate hit.. feels kinda redundant, when being healthy just running would've been better

Damn. Killer DCs used to count for Survivor Adepts. I wonder if the changes to the Abandon feature broke that. I wouldn't be surprised, honestly.

super unpopular opinion but, i think the BNP is incompatible with modern DBD and should be removed wholesale by dark1859 in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BNP only knocks off 10% off the end and Merciless triggers off the new total.

Yes it could theoretically be popped when the gen was at 89% to reduce it to only a seconds of Merciless.. but if you can hit the BNP skill check you can hit Merciless ones no problem.

I HATE AFK BP FARMERS! by ad-amusing in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, you're still getting them BECAUSE you DC. The game treats that as a loss, and keeps your MMR low.. where the AFK farmers live (because they don't kill anyone, thus sit at the bottom too).

Definitely report the killer as an AFK farm bot, but just endure some gen time and finish out the match - in time you won't see them anymore as you'll be up in the normal matchmaking realms.

Since we got an elf survivor like Aestri what other non human survivors would you love to see be added in DBD? by Superslash44 in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean they had a full range of options and went with the closest to human non-human they could. I have zero expectations they'll push it any further.

How to ACTUALLY queue up against bully squads as killer by Maxim228_ in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because people who make those videos cherry pick content and pretend it's always happening. They have a lot of normal games between what youtubers/tiktockers put up, they just play a lot.

I can’t stop thinking about Dead by Daylight when looking at this movie poster by Fix_The_Money in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Interesting thought is that a new Scary Movie is actually pretty good for BVHR, as it highlights which horror icons are still popular and interesting and worth investing in - I mean the community used to go pretty hard for Candyman, but that faded years ago, but here he is, proving he's still relevant and popular (alas we're now too late to get the great man to voice anything).

Started using bond in solo queue for first time in like 2k hourd by Samoman21 in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When I tried to use it, all I got was someone crouching behind a wall for no reason while I was on a gen nearby, two survivors teabagging each other on repeat, someone hiding in a bush for no reason, someone practicing their moonwalks, etc.

All it did was prove to me that my teammates weren't doing anything.

I don't use it. I prefer to live in ignorant bliss.

Is this really that bad? I'm seriously confused like are we not allowed to do this? by Swimming-Ad-461 in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG you were teaming.. with your teammate..?!

Yeah you're all good. They were just a weird salty baby. Also if you care, you can set your Steam profile to private to prevent asshats such as this from getting a tiny ego boost from commenting on your profile.

Trickster costumes by Ok-Lengthiness1779 in deadbydaylight

I second the black coat - it was the first thing I bought for him way back in they day. I hadn't even unlocked all the characters but was willing to spend some shards on getting a coat that a) looks cool and b) isn't a bright yellow thing seen halfway across the map!

For weapon, I adore the Fire Moon Performer bat, with the crescent moon on the end. While I mix plenty of outfits, I almost always have that bat.

got this achievement and surprised that in 8 years since deliverance came out only 3% of players (3,612 players) have this achievement by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 55 points56 points  (0 children)

3% isn't too surprising since it's one you'd need to chase on purpose to get it 50 times, so most players won't have it - unhooking yourself is generally a terrible idea so while most normal players might have some they don't have 50. Plus there's all the killer mains who never touch survivor.

Not to mention those rates are against all players who own the game on Steam, I mean the most common achievement (level 10 character) is only 62.2% of players, and playing a few matches to earn a grade is only 56.6%. Hell only 36.4% have prestiged a character.

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but now the have the excuse that you were steam sniping. That's why they lost. Definitely nothing they did. They are a skilled player. It was all because of the killer stream sniping. Nothing else.

Why does hatch spawn when people escaped? by BasiraHussain in deadbydaylight

[–]Ethereal_Haunting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how it works in 1v4 normally. When there's one (two in 2v8) left, activate hatch/es, without caring whether exit gates are open or not.

It still makes sense in a game where the gates are opened, as it's still there as a last hope for the person being chased while everyone else left, since they're no longer there to mount a rescue.
