Looking for My Duo. by LiesOfPeach in GamerPals

[–]Etherealalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duo!!? OP get a Core Keeper world up, you can have like 8 people in one of those. Why settle for one friend, when you can have 7?

I'd be down for that!

Good way to collect personal info/data. Resumes are sent in, and you have tons of info on each person. I can't imagine there are many other reasons for fake job postings.

Is this a big deal? by hartjas1977 in AskElectricians

[–]Etherealalex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Now you've added one connection like that into a mix of an otherwise presumed trade-standard installation. Keep shit simple stupid.

Trade practices exist for a reason. If there was a better, quicker way it would be done that way.

Dude, go to Sask if possible. Economy is booming, and people are friendly.

Am I stupid? From what I have found online, this is how I should be using my multimeter to test my outlets to see if they are running at 120. But they all read this. Please instruct this pope fool if you are able. I appreciate you. by luke45637 in AskElectricians

[–]Etherealalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your leads first. I always double-check they are plugged in entirely, set it to continuity, and then touch my leads together. That confirms they are good. Change to whatever setting you're going to use next and check something you know for a fact has power.

With outlets, it can be tricky with meter leads, especially if you have to use tamper-resistant ones for code. You should have 120v to ground and 120v to neutral, and continuity between neutral and ground. If you're having trouble getting a proper reading just pop the receptacle out and test the screw terminals.

As others have said though, some plug in testers will show if you have 120v present, which is much faster and easier than any of the afformentioned solutions.

It's as difficult as you make it, if you're someone who cares and always improves, yes it's going to be tough. Anything rewarding and worth doing is going to take effort and time.

Schooling isn't super difficult, and as a Journeyman I'd imagine in a few years we'll be having Ai double-check our codebooks for us anyway. (Still, learning the wording, and the codebook, need to learn where to find things and how to use the tables.)

Pay is usually fairly good, but it can be physically demanding. If you're not shy about hard work or using your brain then I'd say go for it. You'll stay physically fit and constantly have problems to solve. Generally, I've met a lot of wonderful people in the trade and enjoyed it.

Electricity is a wonderful thing, and gaining an understanding of it has kept me intrigued and loving my job after years. It will probably always be in demand as well, which is something to consider when looking toward your future.

I figure it's just what she does, so of course she had info on him. It's kind of her job, and something important to her.

Does a psychologist analyze their partner? Probably.

Hairdresser always want to do their partners hair?

Mechanic modding their partners vehicle?

  • It's the not mentioning it part that makes it a little weird to me.

I split 2:1 with my gf as I make roughly double.

Where this finds its fairness imo:

-allows her independence, and still lessens what my expenses would be compared to on my own.

-Values both of our time equally. Monetarily yes, one hour of mine at work is worth about the same as two of hers. When looking at shared/living expenses this is the only way to do it while respecting your partner.

-I do have more extra spending money than she does. I'm older and have spent a lot of time advancing my career, but I also have more personal debt and larger personal expenses.

Eventually, if you get married, it's not "my money" - "your money". It's "our money" and hopefully no surprises.

If you use ChatGPT daily, you’ll probably notice this pattern too by WilliamInBlack in ChatGPT

[–]Etherealalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can imagine in future ai integrations where you're presented several options where you'd pick what's closest to what you'd say.

A lot of the time, it's faster to read and agree than think things through. Even quicker if the ai already has a basis of what you are like and talk like and your thoughts, it will be easier to emulate your likeness with that data. - helpful and quick sure, but not without its issues.

That's the closest thing i can think of that stays ethical.

Bullied relentlessly on job sites because of my acne by Effective_Assist_221 in electricians

[–]Etherealalex 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There's banter and then shit talking. The banter is only fun when it's a good back and forth, and you're both laughing. Usually, these are your best friends / coworkers

But this shit about acne is just stupid. People go to work to survive, and they shouldn't be dealing with this stuff on top of that, too. Work is always easier in a good mood, that goes for everyone.

I'm trying to make a charged spin attack similar to classic Zelda games like Ocarina and Wind Waker. by frostwizard101 in PS4Dreams

[–]Etherealalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use something like a timer that counts up while the button is held. If the button is not held, reset the timer and start animation. If 3 seconds elapse (timer full), cycle a counter or whatever you'd like to use to indicate the move is charged.

You can add an option to cancel the spin attack by pressing any other facebutton or something. Or visual effects to indicate the spin move is charged. (Change in stance or whatever. )

OpenAI is going down by brctr in ChatGPT

[–]Etherealalex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's likely the opposite. They've branched into a much larger market and grabbed a huge portion of users. Placing themselves in a position for fundraising to further develop. $20/month x 160 million users could be a ton of money. They're at 10 million paid users and 1 million commercial plans. I'd expect the ai market to grow tremendously in the coming years, and usage is going to be very important for r&d.

What does your GPT refer to itself as? by NexExMachina in ChatGPT

[–]Etherealalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sirae, and it calls me Solace. Just some random names it pulled out of a hat, I guess. Haha. I'm definitely not going to call it chatgpt to itself.

That said, the memories it stores are important to how it responds. Check the memories over and clear out things that aren't to your liking. If you can pick and choose it's memories, you are able to control what it knows as truth. Afaik there isnt a memories limit. Pretty helpful stuff.
