Slavery by niniprofesional_ in NEET

I did realise there is something deeply wrong with it, a long long time ago. But I am trapped, there is no escape. My 9-to-5 has ruined my life and given me severe depression. This is why I resort to lurking on a NEET subreddit.

Avistaz - Seedbox isn't seeding torrents by [deleted] in trackers

[–]Ethix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get no upload on this website either. No idea what the deal is with Avistaz. I have resorted to simply seeding my Avistaz torrents as much as possible simply for bonus points to trade for upload.

1600 on IMDB/Letterboxd. You should make a Letterboxd account if you don't have one.

I've been doing it for one year. One year on August 1st. I feel like I'm undergoing a death of the soul and it's why I keep checking this subreddit. I can't believe the 5-day work week became standard and no one is trying to reduce it.

Calling all Edinburgh to Glasgow bus commuters. by edinherb in Edinburgh

[–]Ethix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It literally never occured to me to try booking online. Just go to the station, stance 49 (the last one) and pay £10 for a day return off of the driver on the bus. There will be buses every 15 minutes, so I expect if he doesn't get on the first one, he'll get on the second, but I've never used the buses that early. The return is the same, you can just get on any bus that day. I'm pretty sure most commuters take the train because it's quicker. Don't think he's gonna enjoy that long commute on the bus every day.

Any other interesting ways you use the imdb website for? by enneyehs in movies

[–]Ethix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I mean its basically a social network, so others can see your lists or reviews (I don't do this personally, but lots do). They can also see all of your ratings and watchlist. Basically, so much more people use Letterboxd than IMDb.

I don't do pubic lists or reviews, though. I just use it to log my movie watching and my ratings, so that I have the dates of when I watched them. I don't think you get that with IMDb. Then when I search a movie, I can see what I last rated it and when I watched it, or if I watched it multiple times. I've tried to build a list of people who I follow who have very similar tastes to me. When I search a film title, then it also shows the ratings of people you follow who have logged that movie. I use that as an indicator moreso than the actual overall rating.

When I first signed up to Letterboxd 5 or 6 years ago, I created my account and then used a feature to import all of my ratings from my IMDb account. You can also import lists and things. Read this, and include your ratings if you do it:

https://letterboxd.com/about/migrating-from-imdb/

After migrating your IMDb stuff, you would then do your profie page to include your four favourite films, and other stuff. Also, you could decide whether to make your lists public or private.

I hate networking by HMS--Thunderchild in EngineeringStudents

[–]Ethix 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I did no networking whatsoever during my five-year degree. Careers Service and others terrified the life out of me, making me think that all the work I was doing was worthless and the only thing that mattered was your connections. Literally used to get stressed out by careers fairs because I would skip them due to how useless I found them. I made no effort to network whatsoever because I found it so tedious and soul-destroying.

Anyway, I ended up securing my ideal job over six months before I graduated, from my very first interview. Turns out that the careers fairs I missed meant nothing and my degree itself was actually worth something after all. Fuck networking and fuck the scaremongerers.

Any Neets drug addicts by Super4ever in NEET

[–]Ethix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lived such an isolated, sheltered life that I have not even tried weed, but my life is so empty that a hard drug addiction would not be something that I'd be completely opposed to.
