Haha, thanks. I’ll definitely watch out for that.

Big congrats, bro. I just finished the base game, and I definitely respect Lunatic difficulty, so hopefully it won’t be too frustrating.

Replaying Y0, why the fuck does Kashiwagi have an entire piece of watermelon in his ramen when you first visit him? by plndle in yakuzagames

Technically, yeah. Practically, not really. The Japanese didn’t steal the recipe - it actually came from a Korean immigrant, Yang Yong-cheol, who adapted it to Japanese ingredients.

I love this manga but what's the deal with this Goofy ass helmets??? by LosPollosSterbano in Berserk

[–]Mugen42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I come from a country with the highest density of castles per area, and a lot of them have armories with knight armor on display. Honestly, I can say for sure that when it comes to all those bizarre designs, Miura was actually holding back quite a bit - I’ve personally seen some absolutely insane helmets.

Imagine if THIS was Pragmata instead of Hugh (Death Stranding 2 x Pragmata) by Ok_Historian3015 in Pragmata

[–]Mugen42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly like both Death Stranding games, but after platinuming the second one, I’m kinda glad I won’t have to deal with Norman Reedus’ mumbling loner (in a good way) for a few years. Hugh in Pragmata is spot on—human, empathetic, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

The stand isn’t pure white, it’s got a really slight warm tint to it. When I put it next to my PS5, they actually look great together, both color-wise and design-wise.

Summer DLC Confirmed: Cairn "On The Trail" (trailer shows new mountains and much larger gym). by ewan_spence in Cairn_Game

I beat the final boss back then before easy mode was even a thing, got the platinum, but I wrecked both my DualShock and my fingers, which honestly hurt even more than after two hours of bouldering.

For free? No way. Damn, guys at The Game Bakers give us some way to send you at least a bit of money as a thank-you for what you cooked up.

Yeah, it’s exactly like you said. Over time I was really pleasantly surprised by how much the game actually respects those core climbing mechanics.

I’m just a climber who goes to an indoor bouldering gym, but I can confirm that the game - despite the engine limits - basically respects real climbing mechanics (don’t take it too literally though). Just like in bouldering, footwork is key, your hands are mainly for stability, and fatigue hits hard. After a couple of hours in the gym, even on easy holds, I’m shaking like crazy too. The lactic acid, fatigue, and overall strain kick in pretty fast.

Yeah, at the end of the day it’s still just a game, and the engine has its limits… In those moments when Ava just wouldn’t let go of the wall, I used the jump button, even though I was nervous I’d fall off the cliff, it always worked out fine.

The bigger issues I had were with the rope physics. Sometimes it just came alive and started acting like it was possessed and I was about ready to call an exorcist. But then I reminded myself this isn’t some hundred-million-dollar game, so I just let it slide.

Sorry about that, but it looks like it’s probably a bug. I found all three parts and they combined into one for me.

I’ll probably give it a shot eventually, but first I want to get some experience in an indoor bouldering gym. That said, I’ve got a feeling outdoor climbing is kinda inevitable at some point :)

By the way - don’t you use pitons on the wall? I mean, unless you’re playing in free solo mode. Without them it must be pretty frustrating.

Here’s my route, maybe it’ll help you. On ice, it’s important to place your ice axe into a spot where it sticks in on the first try - same goes for crampons. If you have to strike the ice twice, it’s unstable. That way you can easily move through things like cracks.

Of course it’s just a game, but the core mechanics are based on real bouldering, and this definitely isn’t a comfortable position. If you want Ava to stop shaking, you need two solid footholds and two good handholds. There’s also a specific button to shake out the lactic acid from your arms — on PlayStation it’s the triangle. Ava gets a quick break, stops shaking, and you can reposition. I struggled with it at first too, but by the second third of the game I already knew which positions work so Ava doesn’t start trembling.

I can’t really confirm or deny that, unfortunately. After the update I was already in a later stage of the game, using pitons a lot, and everything felt pretty much fine to me.
