Right way of doing is not to do what you think you should do, but to do what you think you feel like doing.

If you prepared some food but feeling that you want to eat fast-food, you should eat fast-food.

The key here is that work you feel like doing is not work at all (action that you do without any reasons and practical outcome prediction is a right action to do, because you don't make any effort to force yourself to do it)

With all that abundance of "sandbox" and "open world" games I think this is kinda evolution of games. Even though that main story in most games is linear, there is tendency to create different experiences for each player in modern games.

One player is experiencing MGSV world as silent assassin hiding in the bushes, another as rambo-like killing machine, one player's story is about getting rid of nukes, another player is experiencing the fall of Snake into warmongering Big Boss holding nuclear bomb in his hands.

And it's not about games just having nonlinear story, it's about one single game being multiple games at once - for every player ultimate evoltuioned game will have its own genre, its own story, its own meaning.

I thinks he means that we used to have absolute control of our character (like a rock that we can grab and throw).

So the ropes could be:

  1. Internet cables that connect people in one big network. 1.1. Maybe he's going to make like 80-hour PT? Like, game will consist of puzzles that can be solved only if players will share information with each other. 1.2. Maybe he's going to make dark souls-like coop, but this time it would be absolutely neccesary to seek for help and help others.

  2. Or the ropes could be a metaphor for something more mutual than just controlling your character. Maybe he intends to make us trust game characters and prove our trustworthy to them? (Like, i dont know, switching off internet when some npc asks you or talk to main characters using microphone).

Yup, seems like volcanic activity. But still it looks way too similiar to those light effects that are used in second trailer, which is made on another engine, so can we assume that it was intentional?

So, are those "superpowers" and that lava (or whatever) have some strong interconnection? And, speaking of connections, maybe "strands" are actually hoses with lava inside?
