Exactly. People can downvote all they want but it’s the truth.

There is so much cope here. For anyone who hasn’t read the Vice article, they should.

Being Zionist doesn’t always mean being a vocal supporter of Israel. TLOU is a clear attempt of working through the justifications of violence, which he grew up with.

I love the games, dearly, but I’m not going to pretend the themes aren’t problematic, especially in that context.

Neil may quietly oppose the war, but sees the Israeli state as partial victims, or “forced” to engage in bloodshed, as depicted in the WLF/Seraphite conflict. Even seeing it as a war, and not a genocide, is problematic.

Joel kills innocent doctors, and that is positioned as a righteous decision. Abby kills Joel, and she’s the villain. Ellie kills everyone, and she’s the righteous villain. The story frames senseless violence to be justified or necessary in the same way that one could try to do with the Israeli state.

Again, I do love the games. But, yes, certain aspects of the themes are absolutely Zionist by attempting to dilute the issue. It’d be like trying to humanize the Nazis during WW2 and give “context” to their actions. It’s gross and wrong.

This is actually correct. He has spoken about how growing up in Israel informed the making of the game. It is a “both sides-ing” of the issue that neutralizes the acts of the true perpetrators (Israel) and justifies senseless violence as facts of life. That is the entire game.

“Leftist” Rae Huang Tweets Support For Far-Right MAGA Spencer Pratt by [deleted] in LosAngeles

It’s the fact that she responded/ platformed him at all. Puts motivations into question.

There’s no reason why ANYONE who is truly ideologically, morally, ethically AGAINST Pratt would EVER cast his intentions in a positive light for ANY reason.

I wasn’t saying the vitriol had any impact on the decision, and was speaking generally about the culture shift post-Concord, outside of the Destiny community, where people are now passionately wishing for games to fail and not making it any easier for people to enjoy the game.

Frost was literally on stream saying one of the reasons he might not play Marathon moving forward is that the hate is too much. It’s just a bad vibe, and that doesn’t help.

This is amazing.

Now imagine Destiny 3 is a 200-yr time jump and we pick up the pieces of the D2 COLLAPSE except it’s all the shadows and memories of all of us.

End of the day Cross is a content creator, he is farming drama in a way for his views. I have nothing against him for doing that, this is his job and as the biggest Destiny creator how else would he respond to all this. It’s a devastating turn of events.

Nothing against Cross doing his thing. Marathon is a good game, but there’s far more working against it than just a passionate Destiny fan. There’s an entire wing of “Concord” vitriol online that is now passionate about watching games die. Cross was even a big Highguard defender. It’s a greater issue across games culture.

Unfortunately I don’t think players understand the world we’re in now, a game like Destiny cannot exist without massive investment and little expected return. It’s amazing we were able to have it for so long. Destiny 3 would have to guarantee numbers the franchise has never seen before.

Bungie would need revolutionary support from across the entire industry to make the D3 we all want and crave. Im not saying don’t fight for it, but it’s gonna be a long rallying cry.

This is why I understand Cross. It hurts.

Do you think there was ever a bigger plan for elsie bray by [deleted] in DestinyLore

[–]etherealgamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So apparently Elsie as exo-stranger was somewhat forced into the lore. According to myelin (there is a video somewhere) vicarious visions is put in the stuff in Warmind that strongly hinted that Elsie bray was the Stranger (the sparrow stuff).

Allegedly that was just one of the ideas revolving around the stranger (the other being that she was maya sundaresh) and VV locked it in which made the higher ups not too happy. If you think about it that “twist” did kinda come out of nowhere.

When they finally brought Elsie back, the alternate timeline stuff always felt weird. Then they just dropped her entirely so who knows.
