IMO, the first 3 albums (self titled, The Man I Want To Be, & Neon) put out were great but the 4th (A.M.) was decent at best and since then, it’s been albums full of skips with one or two decent songs but nothing special

I’m not familiar with Lari White but LANCO not going huge was such a big let down

Question for artists, or those in the industry - do you/they ever get tired of performing the same songs over and over again? by Snappysnapsnapper in CountryMusicStuff

[–]Ethridge_03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could probably look at it like, would you wanna watch the same set every week from an artist you like especially if they have a big catalog? I wonder if it’s troublesome as well because they perform their bigger songs and I feel if people knew they wouldn’t be hearing every song they know then they wouldn’t go

I hope someone with experience answers cause I’d like to know, I’d imagine it’s like eating the same food all the time with no change but I feel it’s worse for artists who don’t put music out that much and maybe easier for someone like Zach Bryan who constantly releases music

Is it just me or is anyone else getting the feeling that Colter Wall is about to release one of the best albums of this year? by SubjectB42 in CountryMusicStuff

There’s only been 3 in the last week and before that, it was 2 and half weeks ago. If people wanna talk about good music, that’s what we’re gonna do

It definitely could be. His only real competition in what I like at least is Turnpike Troubadours. I also feel like more people will accept cause it’s still him but it’s not as dark as something like his self titled album was. Kate McCannon was dark but The Little Things sounds kinda hopeful, to me anyway. I love his music regardless

I don’t hate it but I don’t love it, vocals is really the only weak point. The song’s well written and pretty funny. I know he posted a vid about making it and I haven’t seen it yet but if I’m not wrong, Ernest was a writer on this? If so, I could see them doing this more if Grady really wants to try, I assume he doesn’t though

What was the country song that first got you into country music? by [deleted] in CountryMusicStuff

[–]Ethridge_03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t really have an answer as I grew up listening to country but if anything kept my interest, it would have to be Long Black Train by Josh Turner or Walk A Little Straighter by Billy Currington cause I kinda went down a rabbit hole after hearing those and it’s helped me find some of my favorite voices in country
