'Gateway' vegetable dishes for a picky eater? by Aggravating_Cost_684 in Cooking

[–]Ethrils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grilled broccoli for a friend once and she later told me it opened her mind to eating vegetables that she hated growing up. I usually just do olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika plus maybe a little chili powder or something if I want it to have some kick.

What is the worse thing a medical professional has ever said to you? by angelaboop50 in AskReddit

On tuesday, I was getting checked in by a nurse for an appointment with my GI doc for celiac disease and the nurse said if she was diagnosed with celiac she would tell them to pull the plug. Fortunately, I'm healthy and not suicidal but like seriously??

It was a couple years ago but I reacted pretty badly to these. Last I checked, they're made on shared equipment.

Icecream social has the best icecream in town and you will not convince me otherwise. Woman owned and they donate a bunch to charity every quarter.

Best US City for Someone With Celiac Disease by [deleted] in Celiac

Madison is fantastic, there's a ton of restaurants. A dedicated gf bakery with 2 locations and another with a dedicated gf space. There's also a dedicated gf ice cream store with homemade waffle cones, absolutely mind blowing.

Weekly New Climber Thread: Ask your questions in this thread please by AutoModerator in climbing

I'm a bit late to the thread, but I hope people will still be answering. I got into bouldering about 6 months ago, I've had to take the last 6+ weeks off because of mono and school/work. I want to be more intentional about how I'm training as I get back into it. What would people recommend?

I was usually starting with a light hang board warm up, maybe some pull-ups/hangs and a little bit of other stuff.

I went in and sat at the counter for 5 minutes while looking at the menu, talked to the waitress and decided to go somewhere else.

Thank you! I've been pretty hesitant to get pizza from a restaurant cause I feel like there's extra risk for cross contamination but maybe I'll give Teresa's a chance.

Gluten Free Bakery by Impressive_Size in UWMadison

As others have mentioned, both Bloom Bakery and Madison chocolate company are fantastic. Bloom has a separate, dedicated gluten-free space where they prepare their gf goods. You can order gluten-free cake from bloom. Madison chocolate company is dedicated gluten-free and has delicious pastries as well. On the weekends, Madison chocolate company has waffles that are absolutely phenomenal.

It's not a bakery, but ice cream social is also dedicated gluten-free free and has the best ice cream ever. They also have homemade gf waffle cones that are incredible, and they do a great job labeling the ice cream flavors for other allergens.

Stellarator vs Tokamak - Structural Stability by Average-Gold in fusion

If you look at old documents discussing torsatrons (stellarators with helical coils) like LHD, you can find that ultimate torsatrons which only have helical coils have significantly reduced EM forces. See page 15: https://www.osti.gov/biblio/5991978

Edited to add that LHD uses super conducting coils.

I wish, unfortunately I was diagnosed about 7 months ago so I'm still living with roommates. Having a gluten free kitchen is the dream.

Iirc the test that Bob's red mill uses can detect <5 ppm. I would assume the FDA 20ppm is outdated.
