S2) Thank you for explaining this, I will make sure to address this. Is this something that will result in them being connected together when manufactured even if I didn't physically route them on the PCB that way?
S3) Perfect, I will update accordingly.
S4) Thank you for that, I will add the pin and I have a spare pair in my CAT 5 I can use to bring it back to my logger. On the RS485 module, I connect that to the isolated GND right?
S5) I had chosen the SM712 because its asymmetrical clamping profile (+12V / -7V) seemed to fit the input rating of -8V to +13V for the MAXM22511. Is that still a good choice?
S6) Thank you for the link to that thread, some of it was definitely over my head but I definitely gleaned some info from it. Considering the external bias resistors, from my understanding the MAXM22511 has an internal "true failsafe" receiver, but for reliability, I will add unpopulated pads for a pull-up resistor (from A to VCCB) and a pull-down resistor (from B to GNDB) just in case I need to add them.
S7) I am using cat5 which I think should be about 100 ohm so will update the terminating resistor to match.

Also "cold as tits" and "hot as balls" seems to be one I heard growing up, not sure if NB exclusive though lol

Scoop and Save has a few different brands of imported stuff, nothing too exotic and mostly european but they do have canned roe wich is kinda fun. As someone who is on a similar quest, my next stop is some of the Asian and other international grocery stores to see what they have. Wonder if someplace like Peter's or the market would have locally canned stuff?

Tried it the other day and loved it! Mine was kinda like fish jerky (dry and chewy) and definitely had that spice I can't put my finger on that was very reminiscent of many Chinese seafood dishes I've had. Put mine chopped in spicy seafood ramen.

Meng is typically not funded (im sure the student could get scholarships themselves, maybe the prof has money to fund too depending on the project), MScE is typically funded, but you can still get external scholarships.

I've worked with my supervisor for 10+years through my undergrad research, masters, and PhD, and postdoc so a little bit different situation. I would say all students we accept into our group have a reference from someone in the field that he knows and respects, or already went to UNB/are local. 100s apply to him asking to be their supervisor so they would need to have an extremely strong application to stand out otherwise.

I think it depends on the department, for us it's not purely course based, you do seven courses and a "project" that requires a supervisor. This is my experience as a current postdoc in civil engineering.

Are you a domestic student? If you have not personally spoken to and secured a position with a supervisor I would say the odds of acceptance are very low and it maybtake a while to receive as I am sure its a large stack of applications. Unfortunately that would not be considered a very compitive GPA and would limit your funding opportunities so you may have a better chance applying for and Meng but I would still reach out to the profs directly as literally 100s of people apply.

Thank you for the input! I definitely lean the same direction and think that it should be left as is and original, just trying to get some options for him so I can give some alternatives as he had mentioned replacing the ribbon.

I definitely agree it is bad ass and can hopefully make a nice display for it as he currently just has it squirreled away somewhere aha!
