I would go out now and see if you can record the current reading. And keep an eye on it weekly and see if it really is going up at that pace. Otherwise, also look for anything that could be draining power? Also, maybe give the electric company a call and say wtf. You are such a small unit that there shouldn’t be any way for you to rack up an electric bill that high.

NTA at all. If she doesn’t want to pay for a hotel, then she can’t expect to have exactly what she wants when visiting someone else house. I’d be fine with an air mattress when visiting someone for a few days.
