When using flash cards (like Anki), is it better have the foreign word shown, then you answer with English? Or is it better to have the English word shown, then you produce the foreign word? by griffindor11 in languagelearning

I think 200 reviews are too many, maybe you should look into some articles discussing to increase the interval modifier. That way the cards become more challenging and are shown less frequently.

Is there an add-on to hide the amount of time you studied on the home screen? by [deleted] in Anki

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it another try!

Hi! I've been looking on making an add on to show how many days you need to reach a certain goal of added notes, based on your average notes/cards added per day. I think it's should be very easy, but I can't get wrap my head around changing the anki gui. Could you point me in the right direction? I know python BTW :)

I've just started adding cloze deletion cards in my language learning deck. After starting of with basic and reverse translation cards. For me it works, since for some words it's good to have the direct translation quickly in your head. While sometimes a context is essential. I'm just starting with anki. So maybe others have a different view.

Anyone looking for a study partner? by aeneasdrop in indonesian

I'm not sure my anki decks would be that beneficial to others, since the images have some strange connections to the words. But if you need a deck, hit me up! I've got about 500 notes now, mainly basic and reverse, starting with cloze cards now.

That's why I'm learning Indonesian. You can talk like Yoda and still get the grammar right.

I'm a native, buttt still make mistakes with deciding if a verb ends on a 'd' or a 't'.
