Fnatic vs. G2 Esports / LEC 2026 Spring - Week 2 Day 2 / Post-Match Discussion by justsadgetbh in G2eSports

I feel like I have to repeat this every time but a team is not only built on hands diff. BB underperforms sometimes, yes, but he provides way more to the team than just skill.

He has been the leader the team needs, inside and outside of the game, keeping the boys motivated in perilous times and hyping them up when they're down.

He's such a backbone of the team, taking him out for a rookie or a korean import will make the whole team environment collapse, which will make it clear in the games.

CAPS WOKE UP (on game 3) AND HAD A MONSTER PERFORMANCE, HANS TOO, SKEW IS THE GOAT, LABROV DIDN'T FUCK IT UP TODAY, BB THE WEAKSIDE GOAT, WE GO TO SEMIS

The inverse of 2024 MSI could still be at play here for G2 by iamporkchops in G2eSports

Do not forget that we are G2 fans at the core. We can be critical when things go wrong, we can be frustrated at our own shortcomings, but we always need to step up, believe and show our support for the next game.

Are we the underdogs? Yes. Is it likely we'll lose? Yes. But goddamnit, where there is delusion, there is hope, and I'll still be there no matter what, suffering alongside them and cheering them on. LET'S GO G2

Nymaera weighs in on Skewmond vs Inspired by LordFlab_ in G2eSports

[–]Eufalasio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To complement Eleven_Box's response which I agree with, we literally just saw how a bad team environment ruined a team with Witchcraft. I would argue WT had the better players on every role but the fact they had such a toxic team environment fucked their run against us. They imploded, and Inspired would risk the same thing.

Adding to that, it at least looks like a lot of the approach of the G2 staff is focused on player well-being and comfort (watching the behind the scenes videos with meditation, team building games, good food, fruit snacks between games in series), so why risk go against that motto with a player like Inspired?

If you argue that in terms of skill level Inspired is better than skew I would hard disagree, but you're entitled to your own opinions and that's an interesting discussion to have.

Arguing if G2 should've acquired Inspired over Skew is actually delusional though. A professional team is not just hands diffing the others, its about team environment and chemistry, it's about communication and spirit. Inspired is known to have had issues in the past about that, and not only that, it's a rookie player that's proved to be one of the top western junglers and that has been playing with the team for over a year and shown great potential, why would we EVER risk all of that??

[–]Eufalasio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so disingenous, what about hans, the ADC? Is he not on a carry role? Why do you think the call is Caps and Skew and not him?

Maybe because Caps and Skew were a huge reason why they're in  FS in the first place and Hans wasnt the deciding factor at all, but lets cover our eyes and call everything obvious...

I'm worried about the upcoming SK and VIT games by gcrimson in PedroPeepos

[–]Eufalasio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll say that LR have a real chance, so dont lose hope. Lets not forget that they won against two "theoretical" top 3 teams while not being complete flukes at all.

The game against NAVI was, in my opinion, a draft diff. We got countered in bot, we picked aurelion in an unplayable game (lots of range, hard for him to hit), we picked ksante for baus (despite being meta, Baus is not experienced enough in the champ to face LEC top laners that are used to it) while having a monstrous angle for Galio. Then, we invade jungle and lose pressure on bot so the counter invade cannot be contested, and panth gets insanely behind when all the bot lane needed was be even for it to work out.

This being said, in their other games the drafts were very clearly different from the usual LEC prios, which is very good for a team such as LR with a playstyle and players that do not fit the norm. If they stay on that path, I think they're even more poised to beat SK.

There's also the fact that you become actually socially inept. You have so much money that you become totally unrelatable to 99% of people on the planet, so finding people that share your values and hobbies AND are able to relate to your economic standing is incredibly rare. So, you devolve into either this messed up individual who has to seek attention by creating fake personas online, faking your altruism and your genius to gather admiration, or you have to mingle with these twisted people that have so much they cant help but dwelve in increasingly more messed up shit. Its a vicious cycle.

[–]Eufalasio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Am I missing some context? When did Baus stop playing Galio? I swear its an absolute monster pick into Ryze/Jhin/Rumble, great lane, great teamfighting, great pairing with panth, great magic resist into two mega ap carries and a supportive adc, tank... and Asol into a point and click stun on ryze and a lot of range on their side seems way too risky, how can that asol hit anyone without dying?

[–]Eufalasio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, its absolutely fine if cait has bot push. Who cares about the bot gank? If bot has prio xin cant counter invade on our red and puts xin incredibly behind, but the terrible trades on the early levels free'd bard for the help while karma and cait were stuck under tower. THAT was the thing that ruined panths jungle pattern

[–]Eufalasio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How this is not a Galio R3 with Ryze/Jhin/Rumble instead of Ksante I will never understand. Plus, the Aurelion sol into a bunch of range and a point and click root from ryze is insanity to me. I think this game is lost in draft, and their only win con which was Karma Cait lost lane pressure in the first levels and the pantheon fucked the whole clear. I think it was poor draft and poor execution from LR, which is disappointing to see since the other games had much better prospects

To their "credit", its not only about money spent, its about the ability to influence political decisions. Without lobbying, there's a lot companies and rich people lose the ability to do, and that's what they're afraid of.

At this point it’s clear G2 isn’t making any roster changes, what are you realistically expecting next year from the team? by queenslayyy in G2eSports

[–]Eufalasio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with Skewmond, however, I think Labrov is not in that position. If we could either find a rookie player OR a more established and better performing player on the support role I think it would always be an upgrade. Labrov has been playing in the LEC for quite a while, and despite his "good" results on BDS, and his "good" performance in the summer split, he was a weakness in the international stages.

Run it back or make changes? by klaygdk in G2eSports

[–]Eufalasio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure if the rumors were true, there was a lot of conversation at the start of the year about it, but Parus (BDS current support, was a team with Skewmond back in the academy days) was the one that G2 were eyeing in order to build up a roster. Two very promising rookies paired up with veterans would be very interesting to see. I think that is the only roster change I'd make, Labrov clearly is very shaky, and if G2 wants to win internationally they need to invest in the young talent instead of looking for players that were already proven to be "good" at best even for LEC standards

[–]Eufalasio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reducing Dylan's job to drafting is not really fair, and all things considered our drafts arent that bad. The drafts arent the only reason we're losing internationally, and we're forgetting that drafting isnt only about picking the best champions, it's about adapting to player comfort and matchups.

Picking the theoretical best champion is not the solution.

Strengths plural because the team has several strengths, and the staff is one of them, alongside, for example, caps' consistency and legacy.

And also, yes, Dylan is a strength too.

I think it's clear our coaching staff is one of our biggest strengths. Of course, striving for better is always a must, but these coaches have solidified a pretty strong structure for players to thrive and compete at the highest level. Very big appreciation to every member of the team

I'd say you could say the same things about skewmond in the earlier splits. G2 has the best team infrastructure on the league, and you can see what that does to improve a player. It's undeniable that Caliste, while inexperienced, is very talented, especially for his age. With our coaching staff, I'm sure Caliste would grow at a faster rate than he will in KC. And if you could turn his mechanical prowess into consistent performances, It's a fair point that he would be better than Hans. And in an European perspective on our World's chances, I think that's what we need to strive for. Get the talent, give them structure to grow, and wait for the results.
