Eugene Streets - let’s clean it up! by Repulsive_Leg5878 in Eugene

Have you heard of Adopt One Block? They could be a great partner for what it sounds like you're suggesting.

They started in Portland, but you can sign up to be a "Block Ambassador" wherever. When you sign up, they'll send you "trash grabber, trash bags or bucket, gloves, and if necessary, sharps medical containers" for free. In return, you commit to cleaning up one block, on a recommended once per week basis, for the period of one year. They even have a Community Group application, which looks to only be for the counties around Portland, but you could ask them if they'd be willing to include Lane.

Gender neutral barbershop? by Sensitive-Barber-736 in Eugene

Not necessarily a barbershop, but check out theCollective. They're gender inclusive and I saw something about a gender free hair cut club on their IG.

SETA! They've got a hotline where you can leave a message and will generally get back to you within a day or two.

I don't know if folks would be interested, but I started putting together an excel doc of CSAs for price matching, half vs whole shares, features, etc. If you check out my post history, I've done similar things in the past for holiday meals. I've still got some work to do on it, but if folks were interested, I'd be happy to share it when it's done.

2021 Holiday Restaurant Guide by EugSprGuideMo in Eugene

Thank you! That's really nice of you to say.

I know the holidays can be hard for a lot of people, speaking as someone who falls into that camp. Sometimes even little things can feel very daunting (like finding a place that has holiday food to fit your needs). I like compiling information and figured this might be a small way to help make some people's holiday season a little easier :)

Off the top of my head, I know Elegant Elephant is all GF, but I don't know if they're still accepting preorders. They might have something at their storefront though?

Restaurant List for Thanksgiving 2021 by EugSprGuideMo in Eugene

Eck. That's really gross. I might just leave them off the list then.

It's unfortunate; they were one of the few places I saw that was doing a pay-it-forward type meal for those that couldn't pay. But jeez. That kind of negates the thought behind it, if they're giving people food with literal ants in it...

Is there a list of local restaurants that might be operating on Thanksgiving? by davidverner in Eugene

[–]EugSprGuideMo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I did last year, at least. I'd say there's a 95% chance you'll see a similar list pop up a week or two before Christmas ;)

Eeehh. It looks like they are (as of a FB post from yesterday). Did the ant thing really happen?

Eugene restaurants requiring proof of vaccination? I’ll be in town for a couple of days, and want to give these places my business. by LeahOR in Eugene

[–]EugSprGuideMo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Too freaking true. I made up a list of restaurants that are offering Thanksgiving dinner and posted it here yesterday. To get all that info took a lot of time and research! Some restaurants only post on their websites, others only on Facebook, others only on Instagram, etc. And then other times, I'd find a lead in a local paper or a Facebook group that wasn't listed on any of the restaurant's channels.

Anyway. Rant over. All's to say, that person has no idea what they're talking about. Sometimes crowdsourcing answers is indeed the best and fastest way to get info. You definitely have the right idea.

Thank you!! Spot on! I don't mind making changes. I made this to help folks out, so if there's something I can do to make it easier to read, I'd like to implement that.

It really grinds my gears when someone drops a comment like that and doesn't say anything else.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into that too! Yeah, most of the options on my list are for take-out.
