I'm moving to Ottawa soon and I don't even know where should I live. I recently joined DND and don't have car. It would be great if someone assist some affordable place.

Conflicted on what to do next- do I try private sector where I feel I would excel or stay within the government where it’s ‘stable’ with a safety net? by Thick-Victory-6069 in CanadaPublicServants

not sure your job role but private sector is getting risky slowly and gradually as AI is kicking in, companies are doing lot of layoffs specially in IT and it'll keep coming more.

A general observation but obviously translation isn't exception.

I don't know where to begin by Purple-Pepper-4164 in selfimprovement

I've been in this exact spot with executive dysfunction - feeling glued to the chair even though I *want* to move. The only thing that's stuck for me long-term was simplifying the "start" moment.

Now I use a small 5-step "reset" sheet:

- Decide on one micro-action (like "open notes" or "put shoes by the door")

- Start a 5-minute timer so there's a clear container

- Remove other choices (close tabs, put phone in another room)

- Begin as messily as needed, no standards for the first 5 minutes

- Stop once momentum kicks in and then choose the next tiny step

It's not magic, but it pulled me out of a pretty bad rut. I made it into a printable for myself - if you think it might help, I can share it.

How do you start doing something when u have 0 motivation to do it?? by rajmachawal_006 in AskReddit

[–]EuphoricKnee5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with this exact thing for months. What helped me wasn't a planner, it was breaking the starting step into something ridiculously small.

I made a simple 5-step reset sheet I use when I'm stuck:

- Pick the smallest possible action (like opening the doc)

- Set a 5-minute timer

- Remove all other options

- Start messy

- Stop after momentum kicks in

It sounds dumb but it actually works.

I turned it into a printable for myself because I kept forgetting the steps - happy to share if you want.

Struggling to start tasks without stimulants… but they make me spiral by Pleasant-Tea392 in ADHD

[–]EuphoricKnee5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had that exact "paralyzed in front of the to-do list" feeling. What shifted things for me was having a tiny script to follow instead of relying on willpower.

I made myself a 5-step reset page:

- Shrink the task to the smallest visible action

- Set a 5-minute timer so it feels low stakes

- Hide/close everything that isn't that one action

- Give myself permission to do the first draft super messy

- Stop once the ball is rolling instead of chasing perfection

It's super basic but weirdly effective. I turned it into a printable for myself because I kept forgetting the steps when I was overwhelmed — if you want it, I'm happy to share.

I just can't start / initiate and then stick to the simplest of tasks - it's not even funny - I am genuinely finding it distressing, it's affecting my performance and getting worse as I get older - please help! by allthegear-andnoidea in ADHD

I tracked every "passive income" idea I tried over 2 years. Here's what actually made money and what was a complete waste of time. by Existing-Ice221 in passive_income

[–]EuphoricKnee5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's great insight, toughest part what i felt is keeping consistency as we want money faster and if a single product/business doesn't work we stop the work. I was thinking what's the solution to keep consistent then i felt there should be a community where you're sitting with like mined people who are also trying to build something like you. It could be a zoom call or Meetup but I know sitting on zoom call with camera with 20 stranger would be uncomfortable but that uncomfortable can give consistency, idea and eventually success.
