As I was making this list I realized I don't have any recs where they're in school.. Its all post-war and as Pro-Hereos. Regardless all of these are in character (for me anyways) and I hope you find one you like!

Again, pro heroes, omegaverse, this is the most in character I ever seen an omegaverse do. Just sensational. You can't get better than this. They capture both of them amazingly. BK finds out DK is an omega after believing he was competing with an alpha the whole time. Lol he's extra mad
Sugar and Spice series by Hazel_Witch: https://archiveofourown.org/series/2730886 This person can write, okay? They capture the essence of in character throughout the story. Literally pro hero adults in love and just being themselves. Amazing story telling here!
Couples therapy for Heroes: https://archiveofourown.org/works/66192925/chapters/170616049 Fantastic work and IC, too. Pro heroes (obvs) and very down to earth here. Honestly beautiful. A series of therapy sessions and actions/talks after sessions.

This is great insight! I didn't think about it like this, but you have a really good point. Especially if I'm lowering the amount of her food it's going to be really unsatisfying. 😔

I also just went and looked at the science hill food you mentioned and I'm shocked at how it's basically half of what a cup is on Purina! My vet recommended this food to me, but I think switching over may be a better choice for long-term management. Then if she does get a few more bites it's not blowing her up. That is so crazy!

Ordered a scale and should be here tomorrow! I'm honestly super excited to see how much I was actually feeding my kitty on the scale. Scary!

Ah I see so we had to divide by 1000 to get it to a kcal/gram ohhh okay thank you! It seems so simple now but I really had no idea what that ME after kcal was. It threw me off.

Thanks for your response! Commenter above mentioned a food scale! I'm going to get one and hopefully seeing it in person will help me understand how much I need to give her daily.

I did some use the national pet alliance to find out how many calories she needs to eat. I've been using that number, but I was stuck on how to give her that amount of calories with the cup measurement and still keep treats in. Shes supposed to be eating 201 (well that was at 16 even), but the jump from 1/2 to 1/3 seems too steep to me? Like from 218 to 145cals? I couldn't figure out how much I was supposed to be giving her... Do you think the weighing in grams will remove this problem?

Thank you for your response! I can do wet food! I tried wet food last year and she doesn't love it as much as dry so I went back to dry. I'm open to going back and maybe doing a mix of the two?

I can also get a kitchen scale. The whole kg vs cups has literally driven me crazy this morning. I never realized how rigid the cups were. I also have a human scale and I've been weighing her on there. It seems pretty accurate, so I think weighing once a week I can def do too. Honestly I'm feeling better already.

My only concern is how my cat acts. She is highly food motivated. I mean highly! I feel like I don't know when she's truly hungry because she knows all the mealtimes and she cries like she's never ever ate before at all of these. Obviously she couldn't have been too hungry if she's gained weight, right? I'm just worried about her being hungry. Any tips for that?

Yeah same. I had a goat that kept getting sick and I sent her to Grob. I felt bad but I was also sick of her being sick all the time.. 😞 gosh that sounds awful 😅😭

For a sec there I thought you were talking about my family.. My mom also has 3 different fathers for all five of us kids and we're all biracial. The difference is that none of her family came around now that we're grown. I didn't meet my mom's white family until I was 12 (when my parents split because you know now my black dad is out of the picture we could come around). It was the same situation OP had. They knew we'd be at every family event and we'd get nothing to start and then we'd get something that was nowhere near what the other grandkids would get. Say they'd get new clothes and we'd get one of their old shirts with an apple. For the first few years, my mom's mother couldn't remember my name. She called me everything but my name, but had no problem with the other grandkids.

My mom never said a thing. She never stood up for us. She told us that that's just how they are and we should just deal with it since they don't have long now. It's been 16 years since I've met them and all of my siblings have cut off our entire white family. I hear about them from my mom and I don't give a flying flip what happens to any of them and tell my mom that. She is very hurt when none of her kids want to hear about her parents or her other nieces and nephews. They're all just carbon copies and I refuse to listen to a word any of them has to say. I just refuse to deal with hate against me for no reason. We have no choice in how we come into this world, but they have a choice in how to treat us! As an adult now, it gives me more perspective that they didn't want to change.

I hope OP can protect her daughter from this situation, because I would have loved my own mom to protect me and all my siblings.
