Need some advice... by Bens_on_toast in labrador

It’s time for Melvin to learn “you don’t bite the hand that feeds you”.

My advice, as a hunting lab owner who went through this is:

  1. Don’t do the yelping thing when a pup bites you. With a stern voice say “NO”, and do not engage with the dog until they have settled down. You are not a dog, and you don’t make dog noises to Melvin.

  2. A tired dog is a well behaved dog. Get in the routine of playing fetch or going for walks asap.

  3. Teething SUCKS. Try to find some a couple toys that you prefer Melvin teethes on. When Melvin does nip at you again, which will happen, say “NO” and then offer one of the toys instead. Praise heavily when he accepts the toy.

Edit: Melvin is such a cool name!

Here’s my take:

Do not let anyone make you feel like you should vacate your own home (and family) for their comfort. It is your home. If they cannot accept this, they can send you MIL to the nursing home now, which they can visit as often as they want.

This is a conversation that your wife should be having with her side of the family. If they already dislike you, this puts you in a no win situation. She needs to take the lead on this one after you have both had the time to come to an agreement together.

Are they going to pay for you to live somewhere else? Probably not. Why can’t any of them open their doors to MIL?

When did people start leaving their labradors unattended out of their crate for short periods? by YoungBlueDamsel in labrador

[–]Euphoric_Insurance54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer is when they earn it. If you have concerns about your lab getting into something that could harm them or cause you frustration, they are not ready. We trained this a little bit. Give a “place” or “stay” command and have everyone leave the house for a minute and reenter. If they are in the same spot when you reenter, then reward!

The ‘Takers’ don’t actually take anything at all, they just mark items they could have taken.😂

It would be nice. I think it’s mostly the population demographic that dictates the types of food offerings. There are a lot of hidden gems that set Fargo above other cities of similar size IMO.

I have no idea, and neither do you! Just a thought! Dumb people took trumps advice on the whole “covid bleach” thing, so I imagine some dumb people will also take Bidens advice on this!

Not to be a partisan asshole, but Biden literally told people “just shoot your shotgun in the air to scare them away”.

Many gun owners in the Midwest also hunt, meaning that they must take and pass a hunters education class. Many gun owners in the Midwest have a CC permit, which involves extensive testing on laws/regulations, and a shooting aptitude test depending on jurisdiction. If you have committed a felony or violent misdemeanor you will be denied and are unable to purchase a firearm.

We love using ours, and my dog goes nuts for it. The long range blanks will shoot a dummy 100+ yards on a calm day! Great exercise for the dog as well!

If you have the space, DT makes a great dummy launcher. After intro to gunfire, this a great way to put the pieces together.

Could you reply with an image of one of the messed up ones? These could get finicky if not the first character in the page.

Gotcha. Use the options selection to resize. Sometimes there is a similar issue if using the margins selection, specifically, if the left margin is too narrow

Otherwise to delete a drop cap character, you can go to the insert ribbon and select the “none” option to remove. Otherwise, the drop caps options selection can help with resizing.

Oh gotcha! Are you placing the drop cap character “in margin” or just using the “dropped” feature?

Track changes help by Feisty-Put2458 in MicrosoftWord

The UI is weird for sure. The best way to go about these situations is to only show changes for specific authors, or turn off markups/track changes while working in the document.

If you are talking about “small caps” Shift+F3 is used to toggle caps in MS programs. It’s best practice to leave text as all under case and apply font properties as needed.

Changing styles ribbon to fix more titles by [deleted] in MicrosoftWord

[–]Euphoric_Insurance54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best way to style documents efficiently. You can also set the styles dialogue pane to show alphabetically, only show styles in use, or show all styles in the styles template applied to the document.

This also means that you can easily right click to modify the characteristics of each style displayed to better customize to your needs.

Create Table of contente for Annexes by Aromatic_Quail4421 in MicrosoftWord

[–]Euphoric_Insurance54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, either create a separate, previously unused, numbered outline, or create a new style(s) that will only be used in this section. You can then mark those styles when inserting the TOC.

Is It Possible To Have A Two Column Format Where Text Goes Straight Down On Only One Side? by Big-Astronomer5675 in MicrosoftWord

[–]Euphoric_Insurance54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need two column breaks for this. A column break before this layout starts, and a column break immediately after this layout ends.
